The Opportunity
At Hitachi Energy, we are advancing the world's energy system to be more sustainable, flexible and secure. As part of our continued growth within the Transformers Business Unit, we are seeking an experiencedRegional Quality Manager to lead and shape the Quality strategy across Europe.
This is a highly visible leadership role reporting directly to the Europe Hub leadership team and responsible for Quality performance across multiple manufacturing operations spanning our Power Transformers, Distribution Transformers, and Insulation & Components businesses.
This opportunity is ideal for a senior manufacturing or operations leader who understands how to translate business strategy into execution. While Quality expertise is important, success in this role will come from your ability to lead people, influence stakeholders, drive accountability, and deliver sustainable business improvements across a complex industrial environment.
You will lead regional Quality teams, partner closely with factory and business leaders, and ensure that Quality becomes a competitive advantage through disciplined execution, proactive leadership, and continuous improvement.
This role could be based in multiple locations within Europe, within proximity to our major manufacturing locations.
How You'll Make an Impact
- Define and deploy the regional Quality strategy in alignment with Business Unit and Hitachi Energy priorities.
- Translate strategic objectives into practical, measurable action plans that deliver meaningful business outcomes.
- Lead and develop a team of quality professionals across multiple product lines and locations.
- Partner closely with factory leadership teams to improve operational performance, customer satisfaction, and business results.
- Drive a culture of accountability, ownership, and proactive problem solving throughout the organization.
- Ensure effective quality management systems and governance processes are deployed across the region.
- Monitor performance trends and use data-driven insights to identify risks, opportunities, and improvement priorities.
- Lead cross-functional initiatives that address recurring business challenges and strengthen operational excellence.
- Champion Lean Six Sigma and continuous improvement methodologies to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance customer experience.
- Support the resolution of critical quality and customer issues through structured follow-up, leadership engagement, and sustainable corrective actions.
- Act as a trusted advisor to business leaders, balancing strategic thinking with operational execution.
Your Background
We are looking for a leader who combines operational credibility with strong people leadership and business acumen.
You will likely bring:
- A degree or equivalent in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Management, Operations, or a related discipline.
- Significant leadership experience within a complex manufacturing, engineering, industrial, or heavy equipment environment.
- Proven experience leading teams and driving business performance through quality, operations, or manufacturing excellence.
- Strong understanding of quality methodologies, systems, and continuous improvement tools, including Lean and Six Sigma principles.
- Experience influencing factory leadership teams and operating effectively in matrix organizations.
- Strong business judgment with the ability to convert strategic objectives into practical execution plans.
- Demonstrated success leading change, driving accountability and improving organizational performance.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage and influence leaders at all levels.
- A proactive, hands-on leadership style with strong follow-through and delivery focus.
Preferred Experience
Experience within power transformers, electrical equipment, energy, industrial manufacturing, heavy machinery, capital equipment, or similarly complex engineered products will be highly valued.
However, candidates from comparable complex/specialist engineering manufacturing industries who bring strong operational leadership and quality management expertise are also encouraged to apply.
