Job description
Job Summary**
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Consultant specializing in Software Asset Management (SAM) to join Hitachi Digital Global India Private Limited. This role involves leading SAM initiatives, optimizing software spend, ensuring license compliance, and providing expert guidance to clients.
Job Responsibilities**
* Lead and manage end-to-end Software Asset Management (SAM) engagements for various clients, including discovery, inventory, normalization, and reconciliation of software assets.
* Develop and implement SAM strategies, policies, and processes to optimize software spend and ensure license compliance across diverse IT environments.
* Conduct detailed software license reviews and audits, identifying potential risks and opportunities for cost savings.
* Provide expert advice and recommendations to clients on software licensing models, vendor agreements, and SAM best practices.
* Utilize SAM tools and technologies (e.g., Flexera, Snow Software, ServiceNow) to collect, analyze, and report on software usage data.
* Develop and deliver comprehensive SAM reports and presentations to stakeholders, highlighting compliance status, financial impact, and strategic recommendations.
* Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., IT, procurement, legal) and external vendors to ensure effective SAM program execution.
* Mentor and guide junior SAM consultants, fostering their professional growth and expertise.
* Stay abreast of industry trends, new software licensing models, and regulatory changes impacting SAM.
Job Qualifications**
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
* Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in Software Asset Management, with a proven track record of leading successful SAM initiatives.
* In-depth knowledge of various software licensing models (e.g., per-user, per-core, subscription) from major vendors like Microsoft, Oracle, Adobe
* Strong experience with leading SAM tools (e.g., Flexera One, Snow Software, ServiceNow SAM Pro).
* Person should know about AI tool governance- Cloude AI, Courser AI, Gemini and MS Copilot licensing and know the vendor portal.
* Demonstrated ability to analyze complex software license agreements and identify compliance risks and optimization opportunities.
* Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
* Certifications such as CSAM (Certified Software Asset Manager) or equivalent are highly desirable.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with meticulous attention to detail.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced consulting environment.
