Summary

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Software Manager to lead a team of software engineers in designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality software solutions. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and a passion for mentoring and growing engineering talent.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of software engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee the design, development, testing, and deployment of software applications and systems.
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to define project requirements and deliverables.
  • Ensure software development best practices are followed, including code reviews, testing, and documentation.
  • Manage project timelines, resources, and budgets to ensure timely delivery of high-quality software.
  • Identify and resolve technical and operational issues, and drive process improvements.
  • Support career development of team members through coaching, feedback, and performance evaluations.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to guide strategic technical decisions.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of software engineering principles, design patterns, and development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, etc.).
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, C#, JavaScript).
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and DevOps practices is a plus.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment on short- and long-term projects.
  • Excellent communication skills in Portuguese and English (Advanced).
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to sell the Architecture to key Stake Holders.
  • Good presentation skills.
  • Product knowledge of Oil and Gas Rigs Onshore and Offshore.
  • Cyber security framework knowledge.
  • Ability to recommend improvements / resolutions to improve customer satisfaction and product functionality.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.

Minimum of 10 years engineering experience.

Prior oilfield experience in Drilling or Subsea Systems.

5+ years proven experience in software development and team leadership.

Location: Macaé or Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
