Job Summary

Join HP Additive Manufacturing (HPAM), one of HP’s most exciting and growing businesses, where innovation, engineering excellence, and breakthrough technologies are shaping the future of digital manufacturing. This is a unique opportunity to work on next-generation industrial 3D printing platforms that combine complex hardware, software, materials, and manufacturing technologies to transform how products are designed and produced worldwide.

As part of a highly collaborative and multidisciplinary organization, you will contribute to the development of future product platforms, tackling challenging engineering problems and driving product quality from concept through customer deployment. The role offers significant exposure to cutting-edge hardware systems, advanced reliability methodologies, and emerging technologies while working with global teams across R&D, manufacturing, suppliers, and product development. If you are passionate about building robust, reliable products and want to have a direct impact on innovative industrial solutions, this role provides an exceptional opportunity for growth, influence, and technical leadership.

This role will be responsible for defining and driving hardware quality assurance, robustness, and reliability engineering strategies across HPAM hardware products throughout the development lifecycle. The role leads robustness and reliability validation activities, collaborates with cross-functional hardware, software, manufacturing, and supplier teams, and ensures products meet reliability, durability, safety, and customer quality expectations. Applies advanced subject matter expertise to assess risks, develop validation methodologies, and drive corrective actions for moderately complex products and systems.

This role offers the opportunity to influence the quality and reliability strategy of future HP Additive Manufacturing platforms while working at the forefront of industrial innovation and helping deliver industry-leading solutions to customers around the world.

  • Applies statistical methods and reliability engineering tools such as Weibull analysis, reliability growth modeling, life data analysis, HALT, HASS, and Design for Reliability (DfR) methodologies.
  • Collaborates with hardware, firmware, software, manufacturing, supplier quality, and operations teams to ensure reliability requirements are incorporated early in the design process.
  • Leads risk assessments at system and subsystem level, including FMEA, fault tree analysis, and other reliability-focused evaluations to identify and address potential product weaknesses.
  • Manages reliability and quality deliverables from internal teams, external partners, laboratories, and suppliers, ensuring alignment on quality objectives, schedules, and execution.
  • Drives continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing field data, customer feedback, customer escalations, service feedback, product usage insights and validation results to improve product reliability, robustness and customer satisfaction.
  • Drives Hardware Quality governance processes across product development programs, ensuring quality and reliability risks are visible, assessed, and appropriately managed through design reviews, quality reviews, and program decision milestones.
  • Generates process efficiencies through robust documentation, validation reporting, metrics tracking, and project management practices.
  • Provides technical guidance and mentoring to less experienced quality, reliability, and validation engineers.

Education & Experience Recommended

  • Four-year or Graduate Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Physics, or another related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
