It is one of the largest personal computer vendors in the world, shipping consumer and commercial laptops, desktops and workstations under the HP, Pavilion, Envy, EliteBook, OMEN and Poly brands, alongside a printing division covering home, office, large-format and industrial 3D printing. Headquartered in Palo Alto, California, the company earns a large share of profit from supplies and services attached to its installed base and has pushed into hybrid-work peripherals and subscription hardware.
Global University Recruiting Manager and Program Lead

Description -

Job scope/summary:

This role is accountable for shaping and delivering HP’s future talent pipeline across APJ and EMEA by leading university recruitment and experience programs that reflect HP’s Leadership Principles, culture, and innovation agenda.

The role drives end-to-end strategy, execution, and continuous transformation of university hiring, internship, and graduate programs-attracting, developing, and converting exceptional talent to help shape the future of technology.

With a strong focus on proactivity, data-driven decision-making, innovation, and automation, the role continuously evolves how HP designs, scales, and measures early-career talent programs to meet dynamic business needs, changing workforce expectations, and future skills demand.

Job specifics/responsibilities:

  • Lead and own university recruiting strategy and execution across APJ and EMEA, driving proactive workforce planning, demand forecasting, and delivery excellence for multiple business units and geographies.
  • Serve as a strategic partner to the Director of Global University Programs by helping shape the global university talent agenda, translating priorities into regional execution, and ensuring alignment across global program objectives.
  • Set strategic vision and direction for sourcing, school strategy, employer branding, and communications, leveraging inclusive practices, market insights, and innovative AI-enabled and automated recruiting solutions to build future-ready talent pipelines.
  • Champion innovation and continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to automate processes, use AI, standardize ways of working, and scale best practices across regions, improving candidate experience, efficiency, and compliance.
  • Apply AI, automation, and digital recruiting tools responsibly for improving productivity, decision quality, candidate engagement, and process consistency.
  • Design consistent, engaging candidate and intern experiences across digital, in-person, and hybrid touchpoints to strengthen attraction, engagement, and conversion.
  • Lead the design and execution of consistent, scalable intern and graduate onboarding and development programs, accountable for budgets, governance, tracking, approvals, and reporting across respective geographies.
  • Drive strategic university partnerships and ecosystem relationships, continuously assessing core schools and related institutions to ensure alignment with HP’s business priorities, skills strategy, and local legal and contractual frameworks.
  • Ensure recruiting processes, university partnerships, and program operations align with regional compliance requirements, data privacy standards, employment practices, and HP governance expectations.
  • Act as a consultant to business leaders, People Partners, and TA stakeholders, influencing decisions through data, insights, and market perspectives.
  • Own metrics, analytics, and outcomes, following clear success measures, tracking performance, and translating data into actionable insights.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of accountability, inclusivity, innovation, and growth, while acting in line with HP Leadership Principles and positive people leadership.

Key deliverables/accountabilities:

  • Successful delivery of scalable, high-impact university hiring and programs across APJ and EMEA.
  • Achievement of hiring, conversion, quality-of-hire, and CSAT outcomes aligned with business priorities.
  • Continuous improvement and automation of university recruiting processes and programs.
  • Strong stakeholder satisfaction and visible leadership impact across HR and the business.

Education (degree) and professional experience required:

  • 8+ years’ industry experience in Human Resources, University programs, Recruitment, and Management or equivalent degree level, with at least 1 year of experience as a team lead or managing people.
  • Proven experience leading complex programs across regions and markets, ideally in a matrixed, global organization.
  • Proven experience leading teams to successful outcomes through ambiguity and change, both in person and remotely.
  • Proven experience developing people through coaching, providing stretch assignments, formal learning and project ownership.

Other requirements:

  • Fluent in English.
  • Strong business acumen and cross-cultural leadership capability.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive change, influence without authority, and lead transformation.

Personal skills and qualities:

  • Strong people leadership and coaching capability, with a passion for developing talent and building high-performing teams.
  • Strategic, consultative mindset with ability to influence senior stakeholders.
  • High level of ownership, proactiveness, and drive for results.
  • Creates an engaging, positive team environment while maintaining strong accountability for results.
  • Encourages new ideas and leads cross-functional teams to successful outcomes.
  • Brings creativity to strategic thinking and problem solving, identifying new approaches that improve outcomes and simplify execution.
  • Innovative, forward-thinking, and solution-oriented; comfortable challenging the status quo.
  • Excellent communication, storytelling, and executive presentation skills.
  • Collaborative leader who thrives in complex, global, and fast-changing environments.
  • Entrepreneurial attitude, with success building new programs and driving change with resistant teams and businesses.
  • Introspective growth mindset for self-development and demonstrated emotional intelligence.

Technical skills:

  • Advanced use of Excel, Power BI, analytics, and data storytelling to inform decisions.
  • Strong AI fluency, with the ability to identify practical use cases, automate repeatable work, improve insights, and help the team adopt smarter, more efficient ways of working.
  • Deep understanding of recruitment technologies, policies, strategies, benchmarking, and university data.
  • Strong project and program management capabilities.
  • Social and digital media savvy, with the ability to leverage LinkedIn, university platforms, virtual events, talent communities, and digital campaigns to strengthen employer brand visibility, engage early-career talent, build diverse pipelines, and measure engagement impact.
