Team Leader - Service Delivery

CAPS Hauraki is a community-based not-for-profit organisation providing a diverse range of services across Hauraki and Thames-Coromandel. Our services support tamariki, rangatahi, adults and whānau and include family violence and sexual harm services, youth services, whānau and parenting support, counselling and mental wellbeing services.

Our Team Leaders are an important part of the leadership of CAPS. We are looking for someone who wants not only to lead a team well, but also to contribute to the continued development, quality and success of the organisation.

CAPS Hauraki is looking for a capable and motivated Team Leader - Service Delivery to join our Leadership Team and lead a portfolio of community-based services supporting tamariki, rangatahi, adults and whānau.

This is a significant leadership role with responsibility for both people and service performance. The Team Leader provides day-to-day leadership of the services within their portfolio and is accountable for ensuring they are delivered safely, effectively and in accordance with contractual, professional, legal and organisational requirements.

We are looking for someone who wants to lead - someone who takes ownership, develops their people, understands how their services are performing and looks for opportunities to make things better.

The Team Leader will:

• Lead, coach, mentor and support a team of professional service-delivery staff, building capability and creating clear expectations around performance and practice.
• Actively manage staff workload, productivity and performance, including recognising good performance and addressing performance concerns when required.
• Take responsibility for the quality and contractual performance of services within their portfolio, including achievement of KPIs, service volumes, outcomes, reporting requirements and practice standards.
• Monitor performance, identify emerging issues or risks early and take appropriate action to get things back on track.
• Provide practice leadership to support safe, consistent and high-quality service delivery and client record keeping.
• Actively identify opportunities for quality and service improvement and bring forward practical recommendations and solutions.
• Be an active member of the CAPS Leadership Team, contributing ideas, analysis and solutions rather than focusing solely on their own service area.
• Build and maintain effective local and, where appropriate, regional relationships with funders, agencies, professionals and community partners.
• Represent CAPS professionally and communicate the organisation's agreed views and positions when acting on its behalf.

You’re an appropriately qualified professional with experience in social services, health, counselling or a related field, and professionally registered where this applies to your profession.

You’re likely an experienced people leader, or perhaps an accomplished registered professional who has demonstrated leadership capability and is ready to take the next step. CAPS is prepared to provide leadership coaching and development to the right person.

Bring strong professional judgement, an understanding of quality service delivery and the ability to build positive and effective teams. Experience in family violence, sexual harm, trauma, risk assessment and/or community-based social services would be highly valuable as is the ability to manage priorities.

Most importantly, you will be someone who takes ownership and shows initiative. Be comfortable identifying what needs attention, working through possible solutions, making decisions within your authority and knowing when consultation or escalation is required.

The key is excellent communication, relationship and organisational skills, and a commitment to culturally responsive practice. A full current New Zealand driver's licence is essential.

Remuneration

For appropriately qualified professionals, remuneration is $95,250-$122,464 per annum, aligned with Social Work Pay Equity Band 4.

Placement within the range will reflect evidenced relevant leadership experience, taking into account both the number of years of relevant leadership experience and demonstrated leadership capability.
