Cloud Operations & Engineering Specialist

Job Description :

Experience Required :

- 6+ years in infrastructure, DevOps, platform engineering, cloud operations, or SRE

- ~4 years hands-on with GCP

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, provision, deploy, and troubleshoot cloud infrastructure

- Work extensively with GCP services : Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud Run, Cloud Storage, Cloud SQL, IAM, VPC, Load Balancing, Cloud Logging, Cloud Monitoring

- Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform (HCL, modules, remote state, state locking, environments, drift handling, code review)

- Build CI/CD pipelines with Cloud Build, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar tools

- Manage networking : VPC, firewall rules, private connectivity, load balancers, DNS, NAT, VPN, Interconnect, Cloud Router, Shared VPC

- Handle production troubleshooting : logs, metrics, alerts, incident response, performance, reliability, cost optimisation

- Script in Bash, Python, or Go

- Apply security best practices: IAM least privilege, service accounts, secrets, KMS, audit logging

Must-Have Skills :

- Terraform HCL, reusable modules, remote state, state locking

- Kubernetes basics : deployments, services, ingress, config maps, secrets, autoscaling, troubleshooting

- Linux administration and scripting

- GCP services : Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud Run, IAM, VPC, Load Balancers, Cloud NAT, Cloud Router, Cloud DNS

- CI/CD with Cloud Build, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI

- Monitoring/logging with Cloud Monitoring, Cloud Logging, Prometheus, Grafana

Nice to Have (Trainable) :

- GKE Autopilot vs Standard decisioning

- Anthos / GKE Enterprise exposure

- Cloud Deploy, Artifact Registry

- FinOps and cost optimisation

- Policy as Code (OPA, Sentinel, Terraform controls)
