  • Providing governance for product release decisions, including release, hold, concession, re-test and rejection processes.
  • Ensuring effective QC laboratory performance, testing controls, calibration, method validation, data integrity and traceability.
  • Managing customer complaints, internal non-conformances, out-of-specification results, deviations and other quality events.
  • Leading root-cause analysis, 8D, corrective and preventive actions and ensuring their effectiveness.
  • Establishing, monitoring and reporting key Quality KPIs, including, but not limited to, complaint performance, audit closure, right-first-time, release performance, overdue actions, non-conformance trends and laboratory effectiveness.
  • Driving quality improvement plans and promoting a continuous-improvement and right-first-time culture.
  • Working closely with Production, Supply Chain, EHS, Engineering, Procurement, R&T, Regulatory, Commercial and Global Quality teams.
  • Representing Quality at Site Leadership Team level and providing clear, evidence-based advice to the Site Manager and wider leadership team.
  • Building effective relationships with customers, suppliers, certification bodies and regulatory or external audit organisations.

Experience and Competencies:

What we are looking for:

  • A strong chemical-industry or comparable technical background, with the ability to understand technical issues and support effective root-cause analysis. Pharmaceutical or relevant mechanical experience may also be considered.
  • Practical experience leading Quality Control and Quality Assurance teams, including people management, performance management and capability development.
  • Experience maintaining certified Quality Management Systems and managing internal, customer, supplier and external certification audits.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001; accredited knowledge is preferred.
  • Knowledge of AS 9100 and customer-specific requirements would be advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge of laboratory operations and quality control methodologies, including analytical methods, calibration, method validation, Measurement System Analysis (MSA), Statistical Quality Control (SQC), control charts and statistical process control, testing controls and product-release requirements.
  • Experience managing quality documentation, records, data integrity and controlled quality systems.
  • Experience managing resources, priorities and cross-functional quality-improvement projects.
  • Strong leadership, communication, influencing and stakeholder-management skills.
  • An analytical, data-led approach to problem solving and decision-making.
  • A strong customer focus, quality and continuous-improvement mindset.
