Make sure the hardware gets where it needs to be
That means moving complex, high value and often time critical hardware between suppliers, our sites, test locations and partners across the UK and Europe.
We are looking for a Logistics Coordinatorto take ownership of that movement.
This is not a role where you simply book couriers and update spreadsheets.
You will be the person who knows where critical hardware is, when it is arriving, what could stop it getting there and what the fallback plan is if something goes wrong.
One day that might mean coordinating a specialist shipment from a supplier into our UK site. The next it could mean resolving a customs issue, organising an urgent collection for a test campaign or making sure sensitive equipment reaches another Hypersonica location on time.
You will work closely with Supply Chain, Manufacturing, AIT, Quality, Engineering and Programmes to make sure physical hardware keeps moving as quickly and reliably as the company does.
What you’ll do
- Own day to day inbound and outbound logistics across Hypersonica’s UK operations.
- Coordinate shipments between suppliers, Hypersonica sites, manufacturing partners and test locations.
- Work directly with freight forwarders, specialist logistics providers, couriers and transport partners.
- Prepare and manage the documentation required for domestic and international shipments, including commercial invoices, packing lists and customs information.
- Support movement of goods between the UK and EU, working through customs requirements and resolving issues quickly when shipments are delayed or held.
- Understand and apply Incoterms appropriately across supplier and intercompany movements.
- Coordinate movement of high value, sensitive and specialist aerospace hardware where timing, handling and traceability matter.
- Track critical shipments proactively rather than waiting for somebody to ask where they are.
- Build simple, reliable visibility around what is moving, when it is expected and where risk sits.
- Work closely with Procurement and suppliers to make sure collections are booked at the right point and documentation is correct before goods move.
- Support Manufacturing and AIT with material movements required for builds, integration and test activity.
- Coordinate urgent logistics when programme priorities change or hardware needs to move faster than originally planned.
- Help establish the processes and systems required to support a rapidly growing UK manufacturing operation.
- Maintain accurate shipment and logistics data within our ERP and other internal systems.
- Support appropriate handling of export controlled, dangerous or otherwise regulated goods where required.
- Work with the wider Supply Chain team in Germany to support cross-border and intercompany movements.
- Build strong relationships with logistics partners so that when something genuinely urgent happens, we have people we can rely on.
- Travel to suppliers, Hypersonica sites or other locations when required to resolve issues in person.
Who you are
- Experienced in logistics, supply chain, freight forwarding, shipping or operations within aerospace, defence, automotive, advanced manufacturing or another complex hardware environment.
- Comfortable taking ownership of shipments from collection through to delivery rather than simply placing bookings.
- Familiar with international shipping documentation and customs processes.
- Comfortable working with Incoterms and understanding who is responsible for what during a shipment.
- Highly organised and able to manage multiple movements at once without losing sight of what is genuinely critical.
- Someone who naturally follows problems through to resolution.
- Calm when a shipment is delayed, paperwork is wrong or the original plan stops working.
- Comfortable picking up the phone and chasing a supplier, courier, customs broker or freight forwarder until the issue is resolved.
- Detail orientated without becoming process heavy.
- Able to work across Engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement, Quality and Programmes and understand why one crate may matter significantly more than another.
- Comfortable operating in an environment where priorities change quickly and not everything has an established process yet.
- Motivated by building something rather than simply inheriting a mature logistics operation.
Nice to have
- Experience within aerospace, defence, space or other regulated technical industries.
- Experience moving high value or flight critical hardware.
- Knowledge of UK and EU customs processes.
- Experience with export controlled goods.
- Dangerous goods awareness or certification.
- Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP.
- Experience supporting prototype, NPI or low volume manufacturing environments.
- Experience coordinating shipments for test campaigns, field operations or remote sites.
What we offer
- The opportunity to help build the logistics capability behind one of Europe’s most ambitious defence technology companies.
- Real ownership from day one.
- Direct exposure to advanced aerospace hardware and the teams designing, manufacturing and testing it.
- Short decision paths and the autonomy to solve problems without unnecessary bureaucracy.
- A role where your work has an immediate impact on whether programmes move forward or stop.
- The chance to build systems and ways of working rather than simply inherit them.
- High ownership and autonomy. No time tracking, no micromanagement, just clear objectives and accountability for outcomes.
- Competitive compensation and meaningful share options aligned to responsibility and impact.
The person we are looking for
We are not looking for someone who waits for a tracking number to turn red before asking what happened.
We want the person who already knows there could be a problem.
Someone who sees that a critical component is supposed to arrive tomorrow and is already asking:
Has it actually left? Is the paperwork correct? Could customs stop it? Who do I call if it does? What is Plan B?
Someone who takes ownership of the physical movement of hardware and understands that in a company like Hypersonica, logistics is not an administrative function.
It is part of keeping the programme moving.
If that sounds like you, come and build it with us.
