At IAG, we’re ready for you. We're the largest general insurance group in Australia and New Zealand. Our family of brands turns the IAG purpose of making your world a safer place into action by helping everyday Aussies and New Zealanders, supporting their ambitions and making insurance accessible.

As the Principal, Network & Security Solution Architect, you will shape the future direction of IAG's Network and Security Services, driving architecture strategy, modernisation, resilience, and operational excellence across a complex enterprise environment.

You will lead the development of architecture strategies, target state roadmaps, standards, and solution designs that enable secure, scalable, resilient, and cost-effective network and security platforms. Acting as the bridge between strategic architecture and operational delivery, you will help guide the evolution of IAG's network and security capabilities while ensuring alignment with business objectives and technology priorities.

Working closely with Product Managers, Engineering, Operations, Cyber Security, Enterprise Architecture, and strategic technology partners, you will provide technical leadership across key initiatives, influence technology direction and investment decisions, and drive the adoption of modern networking, security, cloud, and automation capabilities. This is a permanent full-time role based in Gadigal Country (Darling Park 2, Sydney), Naarm (Melbourne).

What You'll Do

  • Provide architecture leadership and hands-on solution design across network, cloud, and security initiatives, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards and strategic outcomes.
  • Establish and govern architecture standards, reusable patterns, and security guardrails across network connectivity, cloud networking, segmentation, firewalls, remote access, and Zero Trust capabilities.
  • Partner with Product, Operations, Engineering, and Managed Service Providers to improve service reliability, observability, automation, lifecycle management, and operational resilience.
  • Provide governance, technical risk assessment, and architecture oversight to ensure compliance with regulatory, security, and operational requirements.
  • Influence technology strategy, vendor decisions, and investment priorities while providing thought leadership across architecture, cyber security, and technology communities.

What You'll Bring

  • Extensive experience in Network, Security, Infrastructure, Solution, or Domain Architecture within a large and complex enterprise environment.
  • Strong expertise across enterprise networking and security technologies including WAN/LAN, cloud networking, network segmentation, DNS/DHCP/IPAM, firewalls, proxies, load balancing, secure remote access, and Zero Trust architectures.
  • Proven experience developing architecture strategies, target state roadmaps, standards, reference architectures, and migration plans.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts and architectural trade-offs to senior leaders and business stakeholders.
  • Experience improving operational readiness, resilience, observability, automation, and service outcomes in partnership with engineering and operational teams.
  • Knowledge of architecture and security frameworks such as TOGAF, SABSA, NIST, ISO27001, ITIL, or CIS Controls. Relevant certifications such as TOGAF, CISSP, CCIE/CCNP, AWS, GCP, or Azure certifications will be highly regarded.

What We Offer

  • Boosted superannuation with 13% as standard.
  • 20 days annual leave + 5 days MyLeave (extra leave for what’s important to you).
  • Work from home and many more flexibility options with myFlex.
