The salary range for this position is dependent on location and experience level ranging from $128,320- $176,400

Job Summary

The Operational Performance group works to develop management and engineering tools to support electric operations and provides strategic direction for reliability improvements across all the AVANGRID Networks electric operating companies. Our team executes projects to provide solutions primarily for but not limited to the distribution system, while driving operational performance using KPIs and dashboards. The position requires managing a team that executes engineering analysis, organizing and facilitating meetings, presenting to technical and non-technical audiences, and interfacing with senior leadership. This position requires collaboration with other electric operations personnel, contractors, and vendors as well as different departments within the networks business. As a manager, this position requires the planning and execution of day-to-day responsibilities for the department and establishment of future projects.

Key Responsibilities

· Manage the development of engineering tools using current (Microsoft office, Power Bi, Python, SQL) and new software when available to facilitate electric operations and other departments in Networks on prioritization efforts.

· Identify opportunities for process improvement with focus on system resiliency and reliability.

· Provide advice and expertise on reliability related solutions to the engineering staff.

· Lead multi-department initiatives with focus on Electric Operations.

· Continuous process/tools enhancement as new and/or existing issues arise.

· Active pursuit of opportunities within different processes and business in Networks that can collaborate for the improvement of reliability.

· Manage the execution of complex studies and analysis at circuit level to propose recommendations and solutions for reliability related issues.

· Conduct meetings with inter-departmental teams on program specific reliability performance (Automation, Distribution/Transmission Line Deficiencies, Vegetation Management, etc.)

· Present results of complex analytic projects to business, non- technical audience being able to create business relevant examples, prototypes, and demonstrations to help management better understand the work and make data-driven decisions on investments and business strategy.

· Maintain and enhance current existing engineering tools.

· Coordinate with internal stakeholders across the organization to ensure implementation of strategies and process improvements.

· Provide coverage for the Senior Manager - Operational Performance as needed.

Required Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.

· 7+ years of experience in the field of electrical engineering and utilities business

· Expertise on T&D Networks systems including field operations experience required.

· Experience with programming languages such as SQL and Python preferred.

· Strong written and verbal skills required; must be able to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

· Experience building engineering solutions for distribution networks focusing on reliability improvement.

· Experience with programs for grid maintenance such as vegetation management, grid automation, transmission and distribution line deficiencies.

· Experience in the creation of prioritization methodologies for strategic decision making on grid investments.

· Project management or process improvement implementation experience required.
