ICEYE is a Finnish space company founded in 2014 that built the first synthetic aperture radar satellite small enough to be launched in large numbers, and it now operates the world's largest constellation of them. Because radar imaging works through cloud and at night, the constellation can observe a location reliably regardless of weather, which makes it valuable for flood monitoring, insurance loss assessment, maritime surveillance and defence intelligence. Headquartered in Espoo, the company both sells data and builds satellites for government customers who want their own sovereign radar capability.

Role highlights:

  • Production Reliability Engineer

  • Location: Athens

  • Department: Mission Assurance & Reliability; Global Manufacturing Organisation

  • Reports to: Manager, Mission Assurance & Reliability

  • Employment type: Permanent

  • Workplace model: Office

  • Employment is subject to applicable security screening (incl. SUPO)

Why this role matters:

This role is responsible for assuring the reliability and quality of ICEYE’s subassembly production line, ensuring that assemblies meet design intent, space-grade quality requirements, and operational standards. The Production Reliability Engineer works closely with AIT engineering, production technicians, and integration teams to prevent quality escapes, ensure proper operator self-verifications, and drive proactive improvements through risk-based quality assurance methods.

The position reports to the Reliability & Mission Assurance team and serves as the quality assurance representative embedded in the subassembly production line. It plays a key role in maintaining product reliability, manufacturability, and compliance with space standards by implementing preventive quality practices, monitoring key metrics, and fostering a culture of quality ownership at the production level.

Who We Are

ICEYE is the world leader in sovereign intelligence from space. We deliver persistent monitoring capabilities to detect and respond to changes in any location on Earth.

ICEYE owns the world's largest and most advanced SAR (synthetic aperture radar) satellite constellation. To our customers we provide intelligence with unmatched quality, latency and revisit times, in any weather, day or night. To governments who choose to operate their own constellation we provide this proven capability as a sovereign system.

ICEYE-built constellations serve customers in defence and intelligence, environmental monitoring, insurance and emergency management. We enable fast decisions that contribute to a safer future.

Founded and headquartered in Finland, ICEYE operates globally with over 1000 employees across Europe, North America, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific.

Your day-to-day responsibilities

  • Oversee subassembly production activities, ensuring compliance with quality requirements, approved processes, and product specifications.

  • Manage and support quality-related change management activities, including impact assessments, implementation follow-up, and effectiveness verification.

  • Review, approve, and disposition non-conformances, ensuring timely resolution through use-as-is, rework, repair, or corrective actions as appropriate.

  • Lead and support corrective and preventive action (CAPA) activities, including planning, implementation, and effectiveness monitoring.

  • Perform and oversee final inspection activities, including visual inspections, configuration verification, and confirmation of inspection and test results.

  • Prepare and review Acceptance Data Packages (ADPs) to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.

  • Plan and conduct process audits, perform spot checks of newly implemented procedures, and follow up on corrective actions to verify sustained compliance.

  • Develop, maintain, and continuously improve inspection plans, checklists, quality requirements, and inspection procedures in collaboration with Engineering and Production teams.

  • Monitor production and quality performance indicators, including non-conformance trends, yields, rework, and process effectiveness, to drive continuous improvement.

  • Provide guidance and training to production personnel on quality requirements, inspection standards, ESD/FOD control, cleanliness, and product handling practices.

  • Ensure production readiness by verifying that required inspections, verifications, approvals, and quality gates are completed before manufacturing activities proceed.

  • Collaborate with Engineering, Production, and Quality teams to identify risks, resolve quality issues, and improve manufacturing and inspection processes.

What we’re looking for

Must haves:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Mechatronics, or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience in a high-reliability production environment.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in production quality assurance, manufacturing engineering, or process reliability within electronics, aerospace, or high-reliability manufacturing.

  • Solid understanding of subassembly production processes (gluing, soldering, assembly, and testing), process control, ESD/FOD/cleanliness requirements, and space or electronics manufacturing standards.

  • Familiarity with standards such as IPC-A-610 Class 3, IPC/WHMA-A-620 Class 3, J-STD-001, and quality systems (ISO 9001 / AS9100)

  • Strong risk-based thinking, analytical mindset, and a hands-on approach.

  • Demonstrated ability to train, influence, and collaborate with operators and engineers.

  • Ability to influence and drive results without direct authority

  • Structured problem-solving and analytical thinking

  • High ownership with a proactive, hands-on approach
