ICEYE is a Finnish space company founded in 2014 that built the first synthetic aperture radar satellite small enough to be launched in large numbers, and it now operates the world's largest constellation of them. Because radar imaging works through cloud and at night, the constellation can observe a location reliably regardless of weather, which makes it valuable for flood monitoring, insurance loss assessment, maritime surveillance and defence intelligence. Headquartered in Espoo, the company both sells data and builds satellites for government customers who want their own sovereign radar capability.

Role highlights:

  • Supplier Quality Engineer - Electronics

  • Location: Finland

  • Department: Mission Assurance & Reliability

  • Reports to: Manager, Mission Assurance & Reliability

  • Employment type: Permanent

  • Workplace model: Office

  • Employment is subject to applicable security screening (incl. SUPO)

Why this role matters:

As a Supplier Quality Engineer - Electronics, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and scalability of ICEYE’s external manufacturing ecosystem. You will drive supplier quality activities across the full supplier lifecycle, from supplier selection and qualification to ongoing performance management and continuous improvement.

Working closely with Supply Chain, Engineering, AIT Engineering, and external manufacturing partners, you will help ensure that critical electronic components and assemblies meet the highest standards for mission-critical space hardware. Your work will directly support ICEYE’s ability to deliver reliable, manufacturable, and high-performance systems at scale.

Who We Are

ICEYE delivers space-based intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) capabilities to governments and allied nations. This includes sovereign and turnkey ISR missions leveraging ICEYE’s world-leading synthetic aperture radar (SAR) satellite technology, as well as access to data from the world’s largest SAR satellite constellation. These capabilities enable partners to detect and respond to critical changes anywhere on Earth with unprecedented speed and accuracy, day or night and in any weather, supported by ultra high-resolution imagery and high-frequency revisits.

As a trusted partner for defense, intelligence, security, and maritime domain awareness, ICEYE’s near real-time data creates a tactical advantage for mission-critical operations. Designed for dual use, the platform also serves civil protection and commercial users for natural-catastrophe intelligence, insurance, maritime monitoring including oil-spill detection, and finance, contributing to global security and community resilience.

ICEYE is headquartered in Finland and operates globally across Europe, North America, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific. We have more than 900 employees, united by a shared vision: improving life on Earth by becoming the global source of truth in Earth Observation.

Your day-to-day responsibilities

  • Lead supplier preselection activities and supplier audits to assess capability, maturity, and compliance with ICEYE and industry standards

  • Define and communicate technical and quality requirements to suppliers, ensuring clear understanding and consistent compliance across the supply chain

  • Monitor supplier performance through quality, delivery, and responsiveness metrics, driving corrective and continuous improvement actions where needed

  • Manage supplier change requests, part approvals, process approvals, and configuration control activities together with Engineering and Configuration Management teams

  • Lead supplier part qualification activities to ensure compliance with technical, quality, and regulatory requirements before production release

  • Identify and proactively mitigate supplier-related risks to support continuity of supply, product quality, and delivery performance

  • Collaborate closely with Design and AIT Engineering teams to improve manufacturability and inspectability of electronic assemblies and components

  • Act as the primary point of contact for supplier-related quality issues, including non-conformances, deviation requests, and waiver management

What we’re looking for

Must haves:

  • Degree in Engineering, preferably in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field

  • Strong experience in supplier quality management for high-reliability electronics, including audits, qualification activities, and supplier performance management

  • Deep understanding of electronics manufacturing processes and requirements for high-performance / harsh-environment electronic products, including PCB assembly, cable and harness assembly, and inspection methodologies.

  • Experience managing non-conformances, root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions in high-reliability manufacturing environments

  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, PCB layouts, bills of materials, and detailed technical specifications

  • Strong understanding of traceability, configuration control, and change management for mission-critical hardware

  • Data-driven mindset with the ability to analyze supplier performance and identify improvement opportunities

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills across suppliers and cross-functional internal teams

  • Ability to drive results and influence decisions without direct authority

  • Structured problem-solving approach with strong analytical thinking skills

  • High level of ownership with a proactive and hands-on working style

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced and evolving environment

  • Ability to travel at least once a month to meet with our suppliers

Nice to haves:

  • Familiarity with IPC-A-610 Class 3, IPC/WHMA-A-620 Class 3, J-STD-001, and ECSS standards

  • Experience working with ERP systems in production environments

  • Experience in aerospace, defense, automotive, or other high-reliability manufacturing industries
