We’re looking for a Project Manager to join our Auckland Data Practice and partner with our Data Architects, Engineers and Consultants to deliver high-quality outcomes for clients across New Zealand and Australia.

This isn’t a traditional Project Management role.

You’ll become part of a close-knit consulting team delivering modern Azure, Databricks and cloud data projects while building trusted relationships with clients and helping our technical teams do their best work.

Work alongside Data Engineers, Solution Architects and Consultants delivering Azure, Databricks and AI-driven data solutions for enterprise clients.

About the Role

As Project Manager, you’ll be responsible for leading the successful delivery of multiple Data & Analytics projects while working closely with clients and internal consulting teams.

You’ll coordinate project planning, delivery, governance and stakeholder engagement while ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and to a high standard.

You’ll work closely with Data Engineers, Solution Architects and Consulting Leads, helping remove delivery blockers and creating an environment where technical teams can focus on delivering outstanding client outcomes.

What You’ll Be Doing

Project Delivery

• Lead the delivery of multiple Data & Analytics projects simultaneously.
• Develop project plans, schedules and delivery roadmaps.
• Manage project scope, budgets, timelines and risks.
• Facilitate project governance and reporting.
• Coordinate project resources across multiple workstreams.
• Ensure successful project delivery from initiation through to completion.

Client Engagement

• Build trusted relationships with clients and stakeholders.
• Facilitate workshops and project meetings.
• Communicate project status, risks and delivery milestones.
• Manage client expectations through proactive communication.
• Support pre-sales activities where required.

Team Collaboration

You’ll work closely with:

• Data Engineers
• Solution Architects
• Consultants
• Practice Leads
• Delivery Managers
• Project Coordinators

to ensure projects run smoothly while maintaining a collaborative and positive team environment.

Operational Excellence

• Maintain accurate project documentation.
• Manage project financials and reporting.
• Support resource planning and forecasting.
• Identify opportunities to improve delivery processes.
• Contribute to the ongoing maturity of Adaptiv’s Project Management Office.

What We’re Looking For

We’re interested in experienced Project Managers who enjoy working within technology consulting environments and are passionate about helping technical teams deliver exceptional outcomes.

You’ll ideally bring:

• 3+ years’ Project Management experience
• Experience delivering IT, Data, Cloud or Digital Transformation projects
• Excellent stakeholder management skills
• Strong organisational and planning capability
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects
• Experience managing project budgets and timelines
• Outstanding communication and relationship-building skills

Experience working within consulting organisations will be highly regarded.

Bonus Experience

Experience with any of the following would be advantageous:

• Azure

• Data Warehousing
• Cloud Migration
• Analytics
• Integration
• Agile delivery methodologies
• PRINCE2, PMP, Agile or equivalent Project Management certification
