PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Grind castings per instructions
- Change and dress grinding wheels
- Select the proper tools for the application
- Identify equipment malfunctions
- Operational knowledge of air-supplied hoods
- Identify scrap and/or defective castings and report to Supervisor/Management
- Operate hoists and other lifting devices
- Occasionally required to help/assist new or transferred employees
- Must exercise proper care of tools and equipment
- Must be able to work mandatory overtime as needed
- Other Duties as assigned
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Experience in an industrial environment preferred
EQUIPMENT/TOOLS:
- Grinding wheels
- Pneumatic or electric hand grinders
- Pneumatic chipper
- Hand tools
- Lifting equipment and devices
WORK ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds on a regular basis and up to 70 pounds on a periodic basis.
- Stand for extended periods up to 10 hours per day.
- Required to wear respirator or air supplied hoods and other applicable PPE
- Ability to move within office and manufacturing complex and write by hand and/or type.
- Ability to communicate by speech and hearing via phone, radio, and in person.
- Participation in any medical examinations required by law or federal regulations.
- Visual acuity is needed for close-detail work and computer use.
- Exposed to many elements, but none continuously present to the extent of being disagreeable.
