Senior Full Stack Engineer

As a Senior Full Stack Engineer, you will bring strong .NET backend skills and a passion formodern frontend development to our SmartFlow team in Auckland, home to IDEXX's global Software Centre of Excellence. This is a hybrid role, with a minimum of 3 days a week onsite.

The Veterinary Software team is scaling its cloud platforms and strengthening its engineering capability to meet growing complexity and customer demand. You'll join the team behind SmartFlow, our patient workflow solution that helps veterinary teams streamline clinical processes and eliminate bottlenecks in busy practices - playing a critical role in day-to-day clinic operations.

In this role

• You'll lead by example, contributing high-quality code across both React frontend components and .NET backend services

• You'll drive frontend architecture and best practice as we migrate SmartFlow from AngularJS to React

• You'll design and deliver scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions in a cloud-based SaaS environment

• You'll own testing across your work, from unit to integration level

• You'll partner closely with Product Managers and Practice Leads to shape fit-for-purpose solutions

• You'll champion pragmatic technical improvements - refactoring, reducing technical debt, and improving performance and maintainability

• You'll influence engineering standards and technical direction across squads

• You've helped build a strong engineering culture focused on quality, automation, and continuous improvement

As a senior engineer on this team, you'll have a direct hand in modernising the platform's frontend experience and shaping the technical direction that veterinary practices around the world rely on every day.

What you need to succeed

• Proven experience as a Senior Software Engineer in a SaaS or product-led environment

• Deep experience with modern frontend development, ideally React

• Strong backend capability in C# / .NET

• Practical knowledge of software architecture and systems design

• Experience building and operating in cloud-based environments

• Experience working within Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, or similar)

• Ability to influence technically and culturally, mentoring others and raising engineering standards

• Experience modernising or migrating legacy frontend frameworks (AngularJS experience a plus)

• A strong advocate for automated testing, DevSecOps, and CI/CD practices
