As the Senior HR Business Partner, you will serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders within a high-impact, innovation-driven technology portfolio, translating business strategy into HR strategy. In this role, you will drive talent, organizational design, and culture initiatives that enable a fast-moving, highly technical workforce to deliver on IDEXX's innovation and security priorities.

You will play a key role in ensuring that senior leaders across this portfolio have a strategic HR partner who can accelerate their integration, strengthen their leadership pipelines, and shape a culture built for performance and growth.

Why this role matters:

Fast-moving, technical organizations don't scale on strategy alone - they scale on leadership capability, alignment, and culture. This role exists so that senior leaders have a strategic HR partner who can translate business priorities into organizational outcomes, build leadership bench strength, and keep culture and performance moving together as the business evolves.

In this role:

  • You will serve as a strategic thought partner to senior leaders on workforce planning, organizational design, compensation, and talent strategies.

  • You will enable leadership transitions by establishing strong operating rhythms, clarifying expectations, and positioning leaders for early success.

  • You will provide executive coaching that strengthens leadership effectiveness and decision-making, including candid feedback and constructive challenge.

  • You will broker high-performing collaboration across senior teams, assessing bench strength and activating targeted development plans.

  • You will use people analytics and business data to diagnose organizational challenges and inform priorities.

  • You will lead organizational design initiatives aligned to evolving business strategies.

  • You will partner closely with cross-functional HR COEs (Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development, Total Rewards, Analytics) to deliver integrated, business-aligned solutions that scale.

  • You will drive core talent processes including succession planning, performance cycles, and leadership reviews.

  • You will partner with leaders to embed a culture grounded in accountability, inclusion, innovation, and operational excellence.

What you need to succeed:

  • 7+ years of progressive HR experience, including senior-level HR business partnering

  • Proven success partnering with senior leaders to strengthen effectiveness and business outcomes, including comfort providing candid feedback

  • Experience leading organizational design and operating model discussions, with a strong understanding of leadership capability planning and succession depth

  • Ability to apply data and insight to diagnose organizational challenges, with strong financial and operational literacy

  • Comfort working with ambiguity and framing pragmatic recommendations

  • Skill aligning cross-functional partners to deliver scalable talent solutions

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to synthesize complex people topics into clear, compelling narratives

  • Experience operating in fast-paced, evolving, or newly structured organizations, with a proven ability to lead through ambiguity while maintaining alignment and momentum

  • Experience supporting executive leaders in scaling or transformation environments

  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree or HR certification preferred

  • Regular, on-site presence required at IDEXX Headquarters in Westbrook, Maine

What you can expect from us:

  • Salary targeting $150,000 - $170,000 USD annually, with some flexibility depending on years and depth of experience.

  • Opportunity for annual cash bonus and performance-based annual merit increase

  • Health / Dental / Vision Benefits Day-One

  • 5% matching 401k

  • Generous PTO benefits

  • Additional benefits include, but are not limited to, financial support, mental health resources, volunteer paid days off, and much more!
