We are on the lookout for dynamic, experienced technology enthusiasts to join our growing R&D Base Technology Team.
DevOps Engineers play a key role in ensuring that the solutions developed at IFS R&D can be reliably deployed, operated, and scaled in production while driving automation across the software delivery lifecycle.
A DevOps Engineer will design, develop, deploy, and maintain platform capabilities, cloud-native services, and automation solutions that improve the reliability, scalability, security, and efficiency of IFS platforms. The role combines hands-on engineering with solution design and service architecture responsibilities, requiring close collaboration with development teams, architects, and stakeholders.
In addition to adopting DevOps and GitOps best practices, the role contributes to the design of modern cloud-native applications, distributed systems, and platform services, ensuring they are observable, resilient, and operationally efficient. The successful candidate will leverage their technical expertise to build highly automated, scalable solutions while proactively driving continuous improvement across platforms, services, and engineering processes.
Duties and Accountabilities
- Identify opportunities for new or enhanced automations to drive efficiencies within the organization, producing designs and plans to address those opportunities
- Implementing GitOps / DevOps based automation to the IFS shared multi-tenant cloud-platform, supporting new application deployments and rollouts.
- Drive the maintenance and expansion of existing automations and related processes in the organization.
- Create documentation, presentation, and training material
- Engage with relevant stakeholders
- Share knowledge, guide, and train colleagues
- Contribute to activities related to market research and competitive analysis
- Demonstrable enterprise level experience in these areas:
- Building large globally deployed multi-tenant cloud systems for high-availability and scalability
- Designing and building DevOps / GitOps automation to support platform/application, using tools such as ArgoCD and Crossplane or equivalents
- 4-8 years of demonstrable enterprise level knowledge in
- CICD Experience (e.g. GitLab, Bitbucket, GitHub Actions, ADO, Jenkins, Bamboo or similar)
- Container orchestration (K8s, helm)
- Infra as Code / Config. Mgmt (terraform, ansible)
- Containerization (Docker)
- Scripting (Bash, PowerShell, Python, GoLang)
- Working with cloud-based infrastructure in Azure (specifically AKS), AWS or GCP
- Azure sepcific areas (or equivalent): AKS, Azure Networking, Azure Firewalls, Azure Front Door, Azure Container Registry, Azure Managed Identities, Azure Storage, Azure AI Services
- 5+ years of knowledge in Linux/Unix/Windows
- GitOps practices with tools such as ArgoCD and CrossPlane.
- Other relevant technical experience:
- Full-stack experience across databases, application/web tier, networking/proxies/firewalls etc
- MongoDB (Atlas)
- Kafka (Confluent Kafka)
- Service Architecture and Solution Design
- Distributed Systems Concepts
- API Design and Integration Patterns
- Observability platforms (OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, Azure Monitor or equivalent)
- Messaging and Event Streaming Technologies (Kafka, NATS, Event Hub or equivalent)
- Willingness to accept challenges and show high level of enthusiasm.
- A University degree, or equivalent professional qualifications, in software/system engineering is essential.
