PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To safely monitor and control, effective and efficient operations in the Engineering Department, according to Implats' set standards and procedures.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Grade 12 (with Mathematics and Physical Science) or NQF4 Equivalent is essential
- Instrumentation Trade Certificate is essential
- 1-2 Years relevant Instrumentation experience is essential
- Ms Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- SAP
COMPETENCIES:
- Adheres to safety regulations and mine standards, procedures and practices and reports non-compliance.
- Participates in regular safety meetings and makes recommendations to ensure overall safety.
- Performs regular inspections in area of work and report hazards to ensure environment safety and hazard free and recommends remedial action where necessary.
- Demonstrate knowledge pertaining to basic health and safety principles in the workplace.
- Demonstrate an understanding of the uses and safety aspects associated with flammable energy sources.
- Demonstrate an understanding of the principles of Process Control Loops.
- Demonstrate an understanding of basic Programmable Logic Controllers.
- Demonstrate an understanding of the principles of installing Instrumentation Equipment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct fault finding according on process equipment using special testing equipment.
- Diagnoses faults and apply relevant remedy.
- Provides technical suggestions in solving processing problems.
- Designs, compiles/converts, de-bugs or troubleshoots PLC Software Programme.
- Constructs Basic Electronic Circuits.
- Installs, tests, and maintains basic pneumatic systems.
- Conducts daily checks on instrument readings and maintenance requirements.
