Head of Data – Infinitas Learning supporting all Operating Companies

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced leader with a proven track record in leading data-driven transformation. As an established data leader, you will have the skills to influence at every level, imparting your knowledge and skills in a constructive, empowering, and collaborative way. Reporting to the CTO, you will be working closely with our CEO and other Executive committee members, and the data engineering team, you will be part of the team that is the driving force behind Infinitas Learning’s journey to become a fully AI/Data native company. You will be specifically responsible for maximizing the value of data for our learners, teachers, parents, partners, and the Infinitas Learning Operating companies. You will champion the democratization of data across our organization and help shape future insights while protecting customer value to the highest level. Above all, you are a data translator: a leader who connects business ambition, product teams and data capability, who sets and drives the Infinitas Learning Data vision, including how we use agentic AI to analyse our data and generate insight, and who builds the data-driven culture and operating model needed to realise it across our Holding/Operating-company structure. Deep hands-on technical expertise is welcome, but the ability to make data matter to people across the group is what will define success in this role.

This position takes ownership of four areas: Data Vision and Culture, Data Governance, Data Strategy/Tools/Architecture (including agentic data analysis), and the Data Operating Model.

Data Vision and Culture

• Own and drive the Infinitas Learning Data vision and roadmap together with the CTO, CEO and Executive Committee, translating business ambition into a prioritised portfolio of data and analytics initiatives - from data foundations to agentic data analysis - with measurable business value

• Act as the data translator between OpCo leadership, product teams and the central Data & Analytical Engineering team: framing business questions as data opportunities, and explaining data possibilities and constraints in business

• Build a data-driven culture across the group: coach leaders and teams to decide with data, embed data literacy, and make the value of data visible and tangible for the OpCos

• Pioneer agentic data analysis: use AI agents and natural-language analytics so that leaders, product teams and OpCos can ask questions of trusted, well-governed data directly and get insight at scale, moving from experiment to production

Data Governance

• Oversee the Data Governance program, implement policies and processes to cultivate a collaborative, safe and ethical use of data within Infinitas Learning group

• Work with Data Leads in the OpCo’s across the group on data governance initiatives and projects

• Engage with Data Owners, Data Stewards and Application Owners to drive the implementation of data quality, security, data protection/privacy, and data sharing practices

• Drive organization behavioral change, realizing the importance and value of the Data Governance program, raising awareness of data security/ privacy and data protection

• Align Data Governance with AI Governance: ensure that every AI use case relying on Infinitas Learning data is built on governed, quality-assured and appropriately protected data, so that data risks do not become AI risks (hallucination, bias, leakage of personal data, or outright failure)

• Ensure the responsible use of AI on Infinitas Learning data, together with Security/Privacy - data provenance, consent and purpose limitation, and controls and monitoring on the inputs and outputs of agentic data-analysis solutions - in line with GDPR and the EU AI Act.

Data Strategy/Tools/Architecture

• Drive the overall IL data management/analytics strategy, delivering effective data processing, data analytics and (Agentic) AI Data solutions that will enable business stakeholders and Operating Companies to use and maximize the full potential of Infinitas Learning data assets.

• Strategy and funding for group wide data democratization, promote, train and develop user self-help capabilities across OpCos.

• Continuously explore and identify new technologies, tools and techniques that will overall improve data processing, enhance the analytics solution, produce effective and engaging visualization

• Ensure alignment across all the Operating companies and data leads to identify and prioritize new data initiatives, focusing efforts on delivering the highest returns aligned to overall business strategy

• Drive the central Data Architecture to ensure Central Data Engineering team can effectively develop and integrate tools and data models

• Drive the backlog of the Data & Analytical Engineering team

• Lead the adoption of agentic data analysis across the group: AI agents that query, analyse and explain Infinitas Learning data, so that insight is available to everyone without depending on central analysts

• Shape and sustain the Data Operating model within Infinitas and between central and OpCo’s to ensure consistency, quality and persistent value from Data closest to where it is needed.

Requirements

Skills / Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Business Analytics or related field

• At least 6+ years of leadership/management experience in Data related roles - Data Analytics, Data Science, Big Data Platforms, Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence, Data Governance

• Experience in defining and implementing organization wide data strategy and data governance policies and standards

• Proven track record as a ‘data translator’: turning business questions into data solutions, and data insight into decisions and action at executive and OpCo level

• Experience building a data-driven culture and a data operating model in a previous organisation, ideally across a federated / Holding-OpCo structure

• Solid understanding of data tools, architecture and data models, and of how (Generative/Agentic) AI can be applied to data analysis and insight generation - deep enough to challenge and guide engineers, without needing to build it yourself

• Working knowledge of AI governance and responsible-AI practices (e.g. GDPR, EU AI Act) and how they connect to data governance

• Strong collaboration and stakeholder skills; equally comfortable with senior leaders, product teams and engineers

• Experience with Agile development, DataOps, DevOps, CI/CD pipelines

• Experience leading remote teams

• Self-motivated leader with the ability to work in a fast-paced, results-driven environment, and capable of handling multiple concurrent assignments

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, high attention to detail, with strong organizational and project management skills

• Excellent communication, presentation and influencing skills, with a pragmatic approach and the ability to operate effectively in a Holding/Operating company organisational model

Nice to have:

• Strong technical knowledge in ETL/ELT, data integrations, data modelling and data warehousing concepts

• Experience with Snowflake cloud data warehouse

• Hands-on experience with Python, R, Spark, SQL or scripting

• Comfortable working with very large volumes of structured and unstructured data
