Scala Developer

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Scala Developer to design, develop, and optimize large-scale data processing solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Scala programming, distributed data processing frameworks, and modern data engineering practices. You will work closely with data engineers, architects, analysts, and business stakeholders to build scalable data pipelines and analytics solutions that enable data-driven decision-making across enterprises. The role offers opportunities to work on cloud-native data platforms, big data technologies, and next-generation analytics ecosystems.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, and deploy scalable applications using Scala.

Build and optimize data processing pipelines using Apache Spark and Scala.

Develop ETL/ELT workflows to ingest, transform, and process large volumes of structured and unstructured data.

Collaborate with business, analytics, and engineering teams to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

Write efficient, maintainable, and reusable code following software engineering best practices.

Optimize application and data pipeline performance through tuning, monitoring, and troubleshooting.

Integrate solutions with databases, data lakes, and cloud platforms.

Ensure data quality, reliability, scalability, and security across data solutions.

Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and knowledge-sharing sessions.

Support production deployments and resolve technical issues in a timely manner.

Technical requirements

5-7 years of hands-on experience in Scala development.

Strong proficiency in Scala programming concepts, functional programming, collections, concurrency, and object-oriented design.

Experience with Apache Spark (Spark SQL, DataFrames, Dataset APIs).

Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or MySQL.

Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and software design principles.

Experience developing and maintaining ETL/data processing applications.

Familiarity with Unix/Linux environments and shell scripting.

Experience with version control systems such as Git.

Understanding of distributed computing and big data concepts
