ING Group is a Dutch multinational banking and financial services corporation headquartered in Amsterdam, with a strong presence across Europe and the globe. The institution provides a comprehensive range of services, including retail and wholesale banking, commercial lending, and asset management for individuals, corporations, and government entities. Driven by a commitment to sustainability and digital innovation, the company empowers its customers to stay a step ahead in both their personal and professional financial lives.

Transaction Services (TS) is one of ING Wholesale Banking's main business lines. We offer a suite of Wholesale Banking products and services to corporate and institutional clients. TS is a significant contributor to the growth and profitability of Wholesale Banking. Our strategy is aimed at ensuring that we continue to support sustained growth by delivering competitive and relevant TS products.

Product Management PCM represents the product management function within Wholesale Banking / Transaction Services for Payments & Cash Management (PCM). The purpose of Product Management PCM is to unlock existing business potential and activate new client and market opportunities, with a focus on stable and sustainable income flows. The Product Manager Digital Assets (DA) contributes to this by translating ING’s DA strategy into capabilities, requirements and product priorities for a future digital asset environment.

Your job

The Product Manager DA supports and delivers the execution of ING's DA strategy within Payments & Cash Management.

The role focuses on defining the capabilities, requirements and operating model needed for ING to support Corporate and Financial Institution clients in an evolving digital asset ecosystem. This includes capabilities related to wallets, tokenization and connectivity to emerging market infrastructures, in line with ING's strategic direction.

In addition, the role supports Corporate and Financial Institution clients that are already active in the digital asset ecosystem by ensuring ING's existing Payments & Cash Management solutions remain relevant and fit for purpose as client operating models evolve.

The DA landscape is still developing. While ING has defined a strategic direction, the market, regulatory environment, infrastructure landscape and client adoption continue to evolve. As a result, the exact scope and priorities of this role may change over time. We therefore look for candidates who are comfortable navigating ambiguity, translating strategic direction into execution, and helping shape capabilities for a future market environment.

Roles and responsibilities

The portfolio includes activities within the PCM Commercial Product Management space for Corporate or Financial Institution clients and portfolios may change within this space as required. The DA portfolio responsibilities include:

  • The day-to-day product performance and P&L of your portfolio.
  • Defining and driving the capabilities, propositions and operating model required to support clients in an emerging DA ecosystem.
  • Translating ING’s strategic direction, market developments, regulatory requirements and client operating models into product requirements, business cases and delivery priorities.
  • Identifying how core client activities, such as payments, liquidity management, settlement and asset servicing related processes, can be supported or improved in a digital asset environment.
  • Defining product requirements and coordinating delivery across Technology, Operations and Delivery Management.
  • Managing product governance, product approval processes and non-financial risks in collaboration with Risk, Compliance and Legal.
  • Supporting commercialization, product performance and ongoing enhancement of the product proposition.
  • Supporting existing PCM solutions serving clients active in the digital assets ecosystem, including proposition & risk appetite development, commercial management and client engagement.

As a Product Manager

  • You own the product strategy, proposition, roadmap and commercial performance of your assigned product area.
  • You translate strategic choices into executable product requirements and priorities.
  • You maintain a broad view on market, client operating model and regulatory developments, and assess what these mean for ING’s product capabilities.
  • You build strong relationships across Sales, Coverage, Operations, Technology and Control Functions.
  • You ensure that products remain within ING's risk appetite and comply with applicable regulations and policies.
  • You understand both current Transaction Banking client needs and emerging DA developments, and help bridge these worlds through practical product evolution.

Regarding Delivery Management

  • You align with the Delivery Management organization and ensure successful delivery of product requirements.
  • You translate business needs and strategic product priorities into clear requirements for delivery teams.
  • You share responsibility for secure, stable and scalable product operations.

How to succeed

We hire smart people like you for your potential. Our biggest expectation is that you stay curious, keep learning and take on responsibility. In return, we will back you to develop into an even better version of yourself.

We are looking for candidates who combine strategic thinking with delivery excellence and are comfortable operating in an evolving environment.

  • Master's or bachelor's degree.
  • Relevant experience in Transaction Banking, Payments, Cash Management, Financial Market Infrastructure, Digital Assets or a related field.
  • Experience in product management, proposition development, strategy execution or delivery of complex initiatives.
  • Ability to translate strategic direction and market developments into product capabilities, requirements and delivery priorities.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and experience working across complex organizations.
  • A commercial and analytical mindset, with the ability to simplify ambiguity and structure decision-making.
  • Interest in developments in digital money, tokenization, wallet capabilities and market infrastructures.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.

Preferred experience

  • Experience with Digital Assets, Tokenization, Stablecoins or DLT-based market infrastructure.
  • Experience in Wholesale Banking, Financial Institutions or Payments.
  • Experience with product approval, regulatory change, requirements definition or technology delivery.
