Mission

As a Lead REF Banker - Business Banking, a client-facing role, you will be part of the Sales team, responsible for executing the commercial REF strategy at country level, covering clients with turnover up to EUR 150m. Commercially driven and customer-centric, you excel at building and maintaining relationships and identifying new financing opportunities while continuously ensuring we deliver a superior customer experience.

Your day to day

• Execute the commercial REF strategy and drive growth in Business Banking (Large SMEs and Mid Corp segments) and promoting the entire range of banking products and services
• Originate and develop new REF client relationships and act as primary relationship manager for selected REF clients
• Work closely with Regional Directors to leverage the existing sales platform.
• Accountable for the overall P&L, risk/return and performance of the BB REF portfolio.
• Support transaction execution efforts alongside specialized lending team (contribute to the review and negotiation of transaction documentation, including credit agreements, term sheets, legal documentation, ancillary banking agreements etc.)
• Maintain a continuous client dialogue with relevant stakeholders, build up market intelligence by following closely market trends to improve the bank's competitive advantages in the segment
• Beyond client-facing responsibilities, you will have a meaningful contribution to the evolution of the local REF policy framework and other strategic REF initiatives, in close cooperation with Amsterdam-based REF colleagues and other local stakeholders
• Promote the image of ING on the local market (customers, business environment)
• Act as a first line of defence for the bank, follow the Internal Code of Conduct, any other norms, local working instructions and any other applicable legal framework
• Ensure that ING's business principles, standards, policies, and governance rules are communicated and respected.

What you bring to the team

• Experienced REF banker with strong client management skills, proactive, able to originate and build solid relationships
• Strong skills in financing - structuring and financial analysis, with proven experience in syndicated transactions/club deals
• Exposure to Residential REF is a plus
• Entrepreneurial mindset with initiative, motivation, and team spirit
• Ability to execute transactions with tight deadlines
• Strong work ethic, positive attitude
• Team player and effective communicator (Romanian and English)
• Bachelor/master’s degree in finance/economics/accounting/ management.
