Ingram Barge delivers safe, reliable marine transportation & logistics across inland waterways. Setting the river industry standard of excellence.

Ingram Marine Group is seeking a shore Tankerperson or those interested in becoming a Tankerperson Trainee to join the CFS shore-based team in our Wyatt, MO location. You will be required to live within an hour's radius for consideration due to schedule.

This role offers a truly different kind of workday; one that isn’t spent in an office or at the same jobsite every day. As a Tankerperson, you’ll work on the river and be part of an active, hands-on operation that keeps critical products moving. If you enjoy being outdoors, working with your hands, and being part of a close-knit crew in a dynamic environment, this role delivers a work experience that’s both unique and rewarding and far from the typical 9-to-5 routine.

What you will be doing:

  • Ensuring safe crew, vessel, and tow operations through usage of Ingram’s and Custom Fuel safety systems, including audits, drills, investigation, safety contacts and safety log postings
  • Managing fueling operations including but not limited to fuel, lube, slop and water transfers as well as all other aspects of CFS fueling and supply operations
  • Assisting in inspection and maintenance of the boat, both externally and internally
  • Providing navigation assistance as directed by the captain
  • Assisting in carrying out barge inspections and maintenance
  • Responsible for facility housekeeping and maintenance, supply requisitions and inventory control
  • Assisting in the safe operation of forklift, crane, and any other equipment that is needed in the operations of Custom Fuel
  • Ensuring efficient and safe fueling operations through compliance with all USCG, Custom Fuel Service and IBCO policies and procedures
  • Maintaining necessary paperwork and/or document to ensure compliance with policies and procedures
  • Responsible for personal hygiene and cleanliness
  • Working safely and comply with all safety rules and work practices

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Leadperson experience highly preferred
  • Able to safely operate aboard a vessel and perform necessary tasks within the safety guidelines
  • Ability to respond quickly to unexpected circumstances and safety concerns
  • Ability to identify and employ appropriate safety practices in order to manage risks
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Basic mechanical aptitude
  • Basic computer skills

Schedule:

  • 10/5, 12 hour swing shift
  • This position is eligible for overtime

All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
