Role Overview

Reporting to the Global Revenue Controller, we are seeking a Senior Revenue Accountant to support revenue accounting activities within our Global Finance Services (GFS) shared services organisation, acting as a subject matter expert across complex revenue recognition, accrued and deferred revenue positions and period-end close. You will be responsible for delivering accurate and timely revenue accounting processes, ensuring compliance with revenue recognition standards, maintaining the integrity of revenue-related balance sheet accounts and supporting high-quality financial reporting.

Working closely with GFS RTR and OTC teams, you will perform core revenue accounting activities, support period-end close, investigate accounting issues and contribute to the effective delivery of the end-to-end Order to Cash process.

Here's what you'll be doing

Revenue Accounting & Financial Close

  • Prepare and process revenue accounting journals and financial transactions in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
  • Perform reconciliations for accrued revenue, deferred revenue, contract liability and related balance sheet accounts, driving timely clearance of aged or complex reconciling items.
  • Apply revenue recognition policies to assigned contracts in accordance with IFRS 15 or applicable standards.
  • Reconcile revenue ledger postings to billing system data and investigate variances.
  • Lead month-end, quarter-end and year-end close activities, including cut-off reviews and period-end adjustments.
  • Maintain accurate revenue accounting records, contract schedules and supporting documentation.
  • Assist with preparation of revenue reporting schedules and supporting information.
  • Investigate routine revenue accounting issues and escalate complex matters where appropriate.
  • Support the Global Revenue Controller in the delivery of revenue accounting, governance and financial control objectives, and share knowledge and good practice with peers.

Stakeholder Management & Governance

  • Partner with GFS RTR, OTC and Group Finance teams to resolve revenue accounting issues.
  • Support audit activities by providing documentation and responding to information requests.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting policies, internal controls and governance requirements.

Continuous Improvement

  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives and operational excellence activities.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, data quality and revenue accounting processes.

What you'll bring

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent professional qualification) in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related discipline.
  • Qualified ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent required.
  • Demonstrated relevant experience in revenue accounting within a global Shared Services Centre (SSC) or Global Business Services (GBS) environment.
  • Experience supporting revenue recognition, reconciliations, journal processing and month-end close.

Technical & Operational Expertise

  • Knowledge of revenue recognition standards (IFRS 15 or equivalent).
  • Experience using ERP systems such as Oracle Fusion or similar accounting platforms.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills including lookups, pivot tables and reconciliations.
  • Understanding financial controls, compliance and reporting requirements.

Problem Solving & Innovation

  • Investigate reconciliation differences, revenue recognition issues and data quality exceptions.
  • Resolve routine accounting issues independently while escalating complex matters appropriately.
  • Support improvements to accounting processes and controls.

Stakeholder Management & Communication

  • Build effective relationships with Finance, Commercial teams and other internal stakeholders.
  • Communicate clearly regarding revenue accounting queries and reporting requirements.
  • Work collaboratively across the shared services organisation.

Performance, Impact & Ways of Working

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accounting accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet period-end deadlines.
  • Collaborative team player focused on delivering accurate financial information and continuous improvement.
