Job description
The role positions InoBat as a power solutions partner rather than a BESS supplier responding to a pre-defined battery specification. The Energy Engineer engages customers early in their power strategy - assessing grid interconnection feasibility, grid constraints and timelines before a site is locked in - and translates this into integrated power system designs (grid connection, on-site generation, demand flexibility and BESS) that make InoBat's proposals stronger and faster to approve.
Lead grid interconnection studies and utility/DSO/TSO engagement for data centre and utility-scale BESS projects - load flow, short-circuit and power quality assessments
Partner with Sales & BD to engage customers earlier - during site selection and power strategy, not only BESS sizing - assessing interconnection feasibility, available capacity and timeline risk before they commit to a site
Design integrated power system architectures that combine grid connection, on-site generation (gensets, solar, fuel cells where relevant) and BESS as the flexibility and buffering layer
Develop single-line diagrams, equipment specifications and technical documentation to support interconnection applications and customer-facing power system designs
Model demand-flexibility, peak-shaving and demand-response scenarios that can shorten interconnection timelines or reduce grid upgrade costs
Coordinate directly with utilities, DSOs and TSOs on interconnection applications, technical requirements and approval timelines
Provide technical input into commercial proposals, feasibility studies and investment-grade designs alongside the sales team
Work closely with InoBat's BESS engineering team to ensure the storage system is properly sized, controlled and integrated into the wider power architecture, including grid code compliance
