About the Team & Role

You will join the Terminal Hardware & Insight team, a cross-functional product team consisting of three software engineers, one product manager, and one engineering manager who take ideas from concept to production.

We build and support the software and hardware integrations that power over 40 terminals across Europe. Our mission is to make daily life easier for terminal staff through smart apps, manual sorting tools, real-time dashboards, and advanced monitoring tools. We’re all about leveraging data, cutting out manual headaches, and giving operational teams the real-time visibility they need to run smarter and faster every single day.

As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will have ample space to influence our architecture and working practices while serving as a mentor and guide to fellow team members.

What You Will Do

• Build & Scale Backend Services: Design clean, scalable data structures and microservices that handle complex logistics workflows and hardware telemetry.

• Shape the Architecture: Actively participate in technical discussions and help define the architectural direction of our platform alongside your team.

• User-Centric Focus: Work closely with product managers and stakeholders to deeply understand real user needs and translate them into effective technical solutions.

• Mentorship & Knowledge Sharing: Share your experience, conduct constructive code reviews, and foster an environment where junior and mid-level engineers can thrive and grow.

You don’t need to know every technology in our stack on day one-we value your problem-solving ability, curiosity, and adaptability over checking every single box.

Who You Are

We are looking for someone who thrives in a collaborative, ego-free environment where team members support one another. We imagine you have:

• Proven experience in backend development within a modern, distributed environment (e.g., Go, Kotlin, or Java).

• Experience working with relational databases and designing scalable APIs.

• A solid understanding of the full software development lifecycle-from writing clean code to cloud infrastructure and operational monitoring.

• A product-minded approach: you view technology as a tool to create genuine value for the end user.

• An empathetic and clear communication style-you enjoy explaining technical trade-offs to both technical and non-technical colleagues.

• Professional fluency in English (spoken and written).

• Bonus (not required): Experience with event-driven architectures or working with IoT/hardware integrations.
