Floor Care Specialist

Job Description:

• Pay Rate: Depending on experience Eligible for shift differential due to working Afternoon or Night Shift.

• Shift Details: - Full-time, 40 hrs/wk This position starts in the evening at 6:00pm and will be 8 hour in length, with occasional weekends as needed

• Located in the Environmental Services Dept at Intermountain Medical Center in Murray, UT

• Additional Details:Floorcare experience in a hospital setting is preferred.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated communication skills to include differentiating color-coded labels and/or chemicals as well as following written and/or verbal directions.

• Ability to work a flexible schedule when needed to meet the needs of the department

• Demonstrated professional floor care experience. (Preferred)

Essential Functions

• Provides maintenance to hard surface floors by stripping, buffing, burnishing, scrubbing, and re-finishing according to procedure.

• Provides maintenance to carpeted floors by vacuuming, extracting, and performing spot removal.
• Uses cleaning and floor chemicals properly according to Joint Commission and OSHA standards.
• Operates and maintains assigned equipment according to established procedures
• Handles equipment maintenance needs including reporting problems with equipment and facility timely and appropriately.
• Performs general housekeeping duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

• Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and be able to assess customer needs.
• Frequent interactions with customers require employee to communicate as well as understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately.
• Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer, phone, and cable set-up and use.
• Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transport, pull, and push equipment. Will also work on hands and knees and bend to set-up, troubleshoot, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.
