The Role and Impact
As a Manufacturing Systems Software Development Engineer, you will provides operational and technical support for Foundry customers by investigating and resolving production, engineering, and manufacturing data issues. This role serves as a key interface between customers, factory operations, automation, manufacturing systems, and domain experts to ensure timely resolution of customer-reported issues and accurate data delivery.
The position is responsible for managing customer support tickets, performing cross-system troubleshooting and root cause analysis, coordinating with technical subject matter experts, and driving continuous improvement in support processes, data quality, and customer experience
Key Responsibilities
Own and manage customer support tickets through closure, ensuring timely updates and communication with stakeholders.
Review, validate, classify, prioritize, and coordinate resolution of customer-reported issues and inquiries.
Perform cross-system troubleshooting and root-cause analysis across manufacturing, automation, integration, data, and reporting systems.
Analyze manufacturing data, customer data, and reporting outputs to identify discrepancies, trends, and opportunities for improvement.
Coordinate with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Automation, IT, Engineering, and domain subject matter experts to investigate and resolve issues.
Understand customer-specific requirements, business rules, and manufacturing data expectations to support effective issue resolution.
Track ticket metrics, service level agreements (SLAs), and operational KPIs.
Develop and maintain troubleshooting guides, knowledge articles, support documentation, and training materials.
Identify recurring issue patterns and provide recommendations to improve operational efficiency, data quality, and customer experience.
Support process improvements related to customer data exchange, manufacturing reporting, and support readiness.
Qualifications:
Possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Engineering or related fields
Technical Skills
- Strong SQL and database querying skills (Oracle, PostgreSQL, Teradata, or equivalent).
- Experience troubleshooting enterprise applications, system integrations, and data flows.
- Understanding of manufacturing transaction flows, data lineage, and reporting systems.
- Familiarity with Jira, ServiceNow, or similar ticket management platforms.
- Ability to analyze manufacturing data and perform structured root-cause analysis.
Manufacturing Knowledge
- Semiconductor manufacturing operations and processes.
- Understanding of manufacturing systems, automation systems, and data domains used in semiconductor manufacturing.
- Knowledge of customer manufacturing data requirements, reporting processes, and business workflows.
- Understanding of product, material, and manufacturing data flows across factory systems. [IFS L2 Support ' Meeting]
