Team Lead System Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Team Lead System Engineer to join an innovative iGaming company and lead a team responsible for the reliability, scalability, and security of modern infrastructure platforms.

This role combines technical leadership, people management, and delivery coordination. You will guide a team of System/DevOps Engineers, ensuring operational excellence while supporting engineers in their day-to-day work. Although this is primarily a leadership position, a solid technical background is essential to review solutions, mentor the team, and facilitate technical discussions.

Project Overview

Our client is a global leader in the iGaming industry, recognized for developing cutting-edge gaming products and technology solutions, including the world-famous Aviator game.

As part of the Infrastructure and Platform Engineering organization, you will collaborate with architects, software engineers, product managers, and security teams to build and maintain highly available cloud and infrastructure platforms that support business-critical services.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the daily work of the System Engineering team, ensuring predictable delivery and operational stability.

• Plan, prioritize, and coordinate team activities in collaboration with architects, product owners, and stakeholders.

• Ensure the availability, reliability, scalability, and security of cloud and on-premises infrastructure.

• Oversee infrastructure changes implemented using Terraform, Kubernetes, and automation tools.

• Review infrastructure designs, CI/CD pipelines, and operational practices while providing technical guidance.

• Act as the first escalation point for operational and infrastructure-related issues.

• Support incident management, root cause analysis, and continuous service improvements.

• Balance delivery priorities with security, compliance, and operational requirements.

• Mentor team members, support onboarding, and help engineers develop their technical skills.

• Drive continuous improvements in infrastructure, automation, and engineering processes.

• Communicate progress, risks, and dependencies clearly to both technical and business stakeholders.

• Foster collaboration across engineering, architecture, security, and product teams.

Requirements

Must have

• 6+ years of experience in DevOps, Infrastructure Engineering, or System Engineering with strong AWS exposure.

• 2+ years of experience leading, mentoring, or managing Infrastructure, Platform, or System Engineering teams.

• Strong understanding of cloud-native architectures and platform engineering principles.

• Hands-on experience with:

  • AWS

  • Kubernetes

  • Terraform (Infrastructure as Code)

  • CI/CD pipelines

• Strong knowledge of Linux administration, networking, security, monitoring, and production operations.

• Experience coordinating team delivery, workload planning, prioritization, and cross-functional collaboration.

• Ability to mentor engineers and build high-performing teams.

• Strong ownership mindset and focus on operational excellence.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

• Experience working in security-focused or regulated environments.
