Responsibilities
The Experienced IT Systems Engineer maintains and supports technical infrastructure components and performs analysis of business needs to recommend cost-effective technology solutions. Contributes to infrastructure architecture design and ensures adherence to quality and change control standards. Investigates and helps resolve system issues, participates in root cause analysis, and identifies areas for improvement in existing processes and documentation.
- Infrastructure Support & Maintenance:
- Maintain and support infrastructure components to ensure system stability and performance.
- Contribute to the design of infrastructure, network, and security architectures.
- Technical Analysis & Problem Solving:
- Configure and debug systems to resolve technical issues. Troubleshoot issues across network, systems, and hardware platforms.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement short-term fixes and long-term solutions. Use analytical tools to diagnose recurring system problems.
- System Design & Implementation:
- Contribute to the design and deployment of infrastructure improvements.
- Assist in building scalable, secure, and reliable systems based on business requirements.
- Technology Evaluation & Recommendations:
- Analyze technical needs and propose infrastructure solutions to meet cost and performance goals.
- Participate in evaluating and selecting tools or platforms for assigned initiatives.
- Process Improvement & Documentation:
- Create and maintain documentation to support system administration and troubleshooting.
- Identify opportunities for improving existing infrastructure support processes.
- Quality Assurance & Change Control:
- Ensure compliance with quality and change control processes.
- Participate in the review of proposed infrastructure changes for risk and impact.
- All other duties as assigned.
Experience/Qualifications
- Proficient in managing virtualized environments, network components, and system deployments.
- Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure (IaaS/PaaS).
- Intermediate scripting and automation (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Bash).
- Understanding of security patching, backup systems, and monitoring tools.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks or tickets.
