This is an exciting opportunity to work at the interface between science and manufacturing, providing technical expertise to support sterile drug products and drug substance processes. Working closely with Manufacturing Operations, Engineering, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, and Operational Technology teams, you will contribute to the lifecycle management of commercial products while developing your scientific and technical expertise within a global biopharmaceutical company.

What you'll be doing

As a Process Scientist within MS&T, you will:

  • Support process optimisation and continuous improvement initiatives across drug substance and drug product manufacturing.

  • Contribute to manufacturing investigations, using scientific and data-driven approaches to identify root causes and recommend solutions.

  • Support Continuous Process Verification (CPV) activities for commercial production lines.

  • Design, author, and execute protocols to generate data that supports manufacturing investigations and process improvements.

  • Analyse and interpret process data, preparing clear technical reports and recommendations.

  • Work collaboratively across site functions to achieve MS&T objectives and improve manufacturing performance.

  • Support process monitoring, data trending, and statistical analysis activities.

  • Identify opportunities to enhance processes, laboratory practices, and operational efficiency.

  • Prepare, review, and update technical documentation, including protocols, reports, SOPs, and training materials.

  • Ensure all activities are performed in compliance with GMP, data integrity, quality, and safety requirements.

About you

We're looking for a scientifically minded individual who enjoys solving complex problems, working collaboratively, and using data to drive improvements.

Essential Requirements

  • Degree in a Scientific, Pharmaceutical, Engineering, or related discipline or significant equivalent experience gained in a relevant pharmaceutical, biotechnology, manufacturing, or GMP-regulated environment.

  • Understanding of sterile pharmaceutical manufacturing environments.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.

  • Ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams.

Preferred Experience

  • Industrial experience within pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, manufacturing, or a related regulated industry.

  • Experience of process monitoring, technical investigations, or manufacturing support activities.

  • Knowledge of data analysis and visualisation tools.

  • Familiarity with statistical software such as JMP, Minitab, or similar.

  • Understanding of risk assessment methodologies, including FMEA and product impact assessments.

  • Experience working within GMP-regulated environments.

What will make you successful?

You'll thrive in this role if you:

  • Enjoy tackling complex technical challenges.

  • Take ownership and deliver with a strong focus on execution.

  • Are naturally curious and committed to continuous learning.

  • Build strong collaborative relationships across teams.

  • Communicate clearly and effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.

Why join Ipsen?

At Ipsen, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to the manufacture of medicines that improve patients' lives worldwide. You'll join a supportive and collaborative MS&T team where your ideas are valued, your development is encouraged, and your work has a direct impact on manufacturing performance and product quality.

Whether you're looking to build on your industrial experience or take the next step in your scientific career, this role offers exposure to cutting-edge manufacturing technologies, cross-functional collaboration, and meaningful opportunities for professional growth.
