Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Production Team Lead to oversee daily Drug Substance manufacturing operations, lead and develop production team, and support the successful transfer of manufacturing process from R&D into commercial production.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring operational readiness, and delivering safe, efficient and complaint manufacturing while driving continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, develop, and manage a high performing production team, ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant delivery of the manufacturing schedule.
  • Take accountability for successful technology transfer and PPQ readiness, ensuring a smooth handover from Development to Technical Operations.
  • Build and maintain team capability by ensuring personnel are appropriately trained, competent and engaged.
  • Drive a culture of accountability, operational excellence, and continuous improvement across the manufacturing department.
  • Partner with cross-functional groups (R&D, QA, Engineering, Supply Chain) to troubleshoot, resolve issues, implement effective solutions and support long-term commercial readiness.
  • Ensure deviations, incidents and quality issues are appropriately recorded, investigated and addressed.
  • Contribute to the site’s strategy for operational excellence, sustainable growth and continuous improvement initiatives.

Knowledge, skills & experience:

  • Demonstrated experience within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, life sciences or other regulated manufacturing sectors.
  • Proven leadership experience within a manufacturing or technical operations team. Experience within Drug Substance or Biologics Active Pharmaceutical (API) Manufacture is desirable.
  • Experience supporting technology transfer and New Product Introduction (NPI) from R&D into commercial manufacturing is desirable.
  • Experience in driving operational performance and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Strong knowledge of quality systems, including change control, quality event management and CAPA processes, with the ability to lead investigations and apply structured problem-solving tools to resolve complex operational issues.
