Java Software Engineer
About the Role
IQVIA is seeking a JavaSoftware Engineer to join our product development team. This role is primarily focused on building and maintaining Java-based enterprise applications while contributing to frontend features developed using React. We are looking for an engineer with strong backend development skills who is also interested in working across the application stack and expanding their frontend expertise.
The ideal candidate will have solid experience with Java, SQL/MySQL, and RESTful services, and exposure to React or modern frontend development frameworks. Experience with Elasticsearch is highly desirable. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver product enhancements, roadmap initiatives, and high-quality software solutions that support business and client needs.
Major Responsibilities
Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise software applications and services.
Build scalable, reliable, and maintainable solutions using Java and related technologies.
Develop, integrate, and support RESTful APIs and web services.
Contribute to frontend application development using React, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
Write clean, efficient, and reusable code following established coding standards and best practices.
Perform unit testing, integration testing, debugging, and troubleshooting to ensure software quality and reliability.
Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to improve code quality and team effectiveness.
Collaborate with Product Managers, Business Analysts, QA Engineers, and other stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle.
Analyze and resolve application issues in development, testing, and production environments.
Develop and optimize SQL queries and database interactions to support application functionality and performance.
Create and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications and implementation guidelines.
Support the delivery of product roadmap features, enhancements, and ongoing platform improvements.
Contribute to Agile development processes and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Experience & Skills
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
2-3 years of professional software development experience.
Strong programming skills in Java and a solid understanding of object-oriented programming principles.
Experience working with MySQL or other relational database management systems.
Strong knowledge of SQL and database design concepts.
Experience developing and consuming RESTful APIs and web services.
Exposure to frontend development using React, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
Experience using version control systems such as Git.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
Effective communication skills and the ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
Experience working in Agile/Scrum development methodologies is preferred.
Good to Have
Experience with Elasticsearch for search, indexing, and data retrieval solutions.
Experience with Java frameworks such as Spring Boot.
Understanding of microservices architecture and distributed systems.
Exposure to cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
Experience contributing to client-facing product development initiatives.
