Senior Software Engineer (Python / Full-Stack / DevOps)

About the Role

IQVIA is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our strategic Customer360 (C360) program, a high-visibility initiative designed to consolidate healthcare professional (HCP) data from clinical, scientific, and digital sources into a unified, AI-ready platform. The platform powers advanced analytics, intelligent search experiences, APIs, agentic AI solutions, and customer data products across IQVIA.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable software solutions across the full technology stack. You will contribute to backend services, frontend applications, cloud environments, and platform engineering while helping build a self-sufficient engineering team capable of supporting all aspects of the C360 ecosystem.

This role is ideal for a versatile engineer who enjoys moving between backend development, frontend experiences, cloud infrastructure, and data-focused initiatives while leveraging modern AI-assisted development practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and microservices using Python.
• Build and enhance full-stack applications spanning React frontends and API-based backend services.
• Develop, deploy, and operate containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Contribute to cloud-native solutions running on Azure.
• Collaborate on CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation using GitLab.
• Integrate and process large-scale healthcare and customer data within the C360 platform.
• Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to technical decision-making.
• Write automated tests and maintain high standards of software quality.
• Review code, mentor junior engineers, and provide technical guidance across the team.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, refinement sessions, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
• Support knowledge sharing and contribute to maintaining pragmatic technical documentation.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools to accelerate delivery, improve code quality, and enhance productivity.

Required Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).

Experience

• 4-6+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proven experience delivering production software solutions independently.
• Experience working in Agile product development environments.

Required Technical Skills

Backend Development

• Advanced Python development experience.
• Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs and Microservice Architecture.
• Experience designing scalable backend services.
• Strong understanding of software engineering best practices and design patterns.

Full-Stack Development

• Experience with Node.js.
• Experience developing frontend applications using React.
• Ability to contribute across frontend and backend technologies.
• Comfortable owning features end-to-end.

Cloud & Platform Engineering

• Hands-on experience with Docker.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes.
• Experience working within Azure environments.
• Understanding of cloud-native application deployment patterns.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code concepts and modern platform engineering practices.

DevOps & Delivery

• Experience working with GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
• Understanding of Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery practices.
• Experience troubleshooting and maintaining deployment pipelines.
• Ability to contribute to DevOps and CloudOps activities when required.

Databases & Data Technologies

• Strong SQL skills.
• Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL.
• Familiarity with analytical platforms such as Snowflake.
• Understanding of data integration and data pipeline concepts.
