IQVIA is an American company formed in 2016 by the merger of the contract research organisation Quintiles, founded in 1982, with the pharmaceutical data business IMS Health. It runs clinical trials on behalf of drug and device makers and simultaneously operates one of the largest healthcare data estates in the world, covering prescriptions, claims and electronic medical records, which it sells back to the same industry for commercial planning and real-world evidence studies. Headquartered in Durham, North Carolina and listed on the New York Stock Exchange, it employs close to ninety thousand people and combines the trial and data businesses in what it calls connected intelligence.

  • Establish and continuously improve engineering processes, quality standards, operational practices, and performance metrics.
  • Ensure operational readiness, observability, monitoring, supportability, reliability, and performance of applications in production environments.
  • Provide technical leadership through architecture reviews, design discussions, and engineering governance to ensure alignment with enterprise standards.
  • Manage project risks, dependencies, resource allocation, capacity planning, and delivery timelines across multiple initiatives.
  • Conduct performance reviews, coaching sessions, career development planning, and succession planning for team members.
  • Lead production support governance, incident management, root cause analysis (RCA), and remediation efforts for critical business applications.
  • Champion automation, AI-assisted engineering practices, developer productivity improvements, and continuous delivery capabilities.
  • Drive engineering excellence through adoption of modern development practices, quality-first approaches, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational standards, security requirements, and software development best practices.

Required Experiences:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline.
  • 8+ years of hands-on software development experience building, delivering, and supporting enterprise applications using Microsoft technologies.
  • 2+ years of experience in a Software Development Manager, Engineering Lead, Technical Lead, or equivalent leadership role with people management responsibilities.
  • Proven success leading software engineering teams through the complete Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), from requirements and design through deployment and production support.
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple concurrent projects, delivery commitments, and cross-functional dependencies.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, problem-solving, decision-making, and leadership skills with the ability to influence outcomes across both technical and business teams.
  • Proven ability to balance business priorities, technical excellence, delivery commitments, and resource constraints within a fast-paced environment.

Required Skills:

  • Deep understanding of SDLC methodologies, Agile delivery frameworks, source control, release management, and engineering governance.
  • Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, API governance, versioning strategies, and integration best practices.
  • Hands-on experience using Azure DevOps, Jira, and Confluence to manage engineering execution, requirements, defects, and project delivery.
  • Strong expertise in SQL Server database design, performance optimization, indexing, query tuning, and data architecture.
  • Experience with application monitoring, observability, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
  • Knowledge of automated testing practices, including unit, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing.
