Manager of Indirect Procurement (m/f/d)

Mission Brief 

The Manager of Indirect Procurement will leadthe indirect procurement area and managea small team of buyers,while remaining actively involvedin the hands-on management of selectedcategories. Together, the teamcovers a broad range ofindirect spend, includingtransport services, facility-related services, professional services, tools, equipment, trainings and other operational support categories.This position combines people leadership, stakeholder engagement, and category management to ensure reliable, cost-effective, and compliant procurement support for the business. 

Your Role in Our Space Mission: 

• Lead, support,and develop a small team of buyers, ensuring clearpriorities, effective workload management, and strongday-to-day procurement support., POQ
• Oversee the team’s indirect category scope, covering areas such astransport services, facility-related services, professional services, tools, IT equipment, and other operational support categories.
• Take direct ownership of selected categories, managing sourcing activities, supplier relationships, and commercial topics hands-on where required.
• Develop and implement sourcing and category strategies that balancecost, quality, service, risk, and business needs.
• Manage sourcing processes, includingRFIs, RFQs, RFPs, supplier evaluations, negotiations, and contract awards.
• Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, ensuring competitive pricing, reliable service levels, and continuous supplier performance improvement.Workclosely with internal stakeholders to understand requirements, align priorities, and ensure procurement solutions support operational and strategic goals.
• Drivesavings, cost avoidance, process improvements, supplier performance,and procurement KPIs.
• Ensure procurement activities complywith internalpolicies, approval processes, contractual requirements, and applicableregulatory standards. 

Qualification Checklist 

• Bachelor’s degree in BusinessAdministration, Supply ChainManagement, Engineering,or a related field.
• Severalyears of procurement experience,with a strong focus onindirect procurementand category management.
• Experience leading,coordinating, or mentoringbuyers, project teams, or cross-functional procurement activities.
• Proven experience managing indirect categories such as transport services, facility-related services, professional services, tools, IT equipment, or comparableoperational spend areas.
• Experience in aerospace, manufacturing,defense, or another regulated industry is an advantage.
• Peopleleadership skills with the ability to set priorities, guide others, and support team development.
• Strong understanding of indirect procurement, strategicsourcing,and category management.
• Hands-on approachwith the ability to independently manage categories and deliver results.
• Strong negotiation, contract management, supplier management, and commercialskills.
• Good understanding of procurement governance, supplierrisk, and compliance requirements.
• Excellent communication, analyticalthinking, stakeholder management, and decision-makingskills.
• Professional procurement certification,such as CIPSorCPSM, is a plus.
