Senior Backend Developer - Developer Platform

Kraków-based opportunity with hybrid work model (up to 3 days remote/week)

As a Senior Backend Developer, you will be working for our client, a leading financial institution, pioneering the development of a cutting-edge internal developer platform. This long-term, multi-year project aims to revolutionize how teams deliver and host their projects at enterprise scale, employing innovative technology akin to Vercel, Heroku, and Coolify. Your expertise will directly impact the creation of a world-class developer experience, fostering agility and efficiency across global teams.

Your main responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services and platform components to ensure robustness and scalability

• Collaborate with senior management and large developer teams to define platform strategy and drive delivery

• Contribute to architectural decisions and establish platform standards to support enterprise needs

• Engage with stakeholders at all levels to gather requirements and communicate technical progress effectively

• Work across multiple languages and technical domains, applying best practices in development and DevOps

• Participate in code reviews, testing, and documentation to uphold high-quality standards

• Maintain a strong focus on security, performance, and maintainability of platform components

You're ideal for this role if you have:

• At least 5 years of professional experience in backend development within enterprise or platform environments

• Strong proficiency in Java, Kotlin, or Node.js (at least one is a must)

• Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging both senior management and large developer communities

• Self-driven attitude with the ability to work independently in a hybrid setting

• Familiarity with building or working on developer platforms or internal tooling is an advantage

• Experience working in internationally distributed teams

It is a strong plus if you have:

• Hands-on experience with platforms such as Vercel, Heroku, or Coolify

• Background in DevOps or infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) solutions

Language required for the role:

• Fluent English
