Veterinary Receptionist

We are seeking an organised, personable Receptionist to join our team at Avon Lodge on a part-time permanent basis.

Avon Lodge Vets is a friendly and progressive small animal practice, operating from our newly refurbished Wells Road hospital and our branch practice in Bishopsworth. Our team is passionate about delivering high-quality veterinary care while creating a welcoming and supportive environment for both clients and colleagues.

You'll be joining a knowledgeable and close-knit team including our Head Vet, Veterinary Surgeons, Head Nurse, Registered Veterinary Nurses, Animal Nursing Assistant, Head Receptionist and Reception Team. How You’ll Make a Difference

As a Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for clients, playing a key role in delivering a welcoming, professional and compassionate experience at every interaction.

You’ll support the smooth running of the practice by managing appointments, handling enquiries, supporting client communications and working closely with clinical and non-clinical colleagues to ensure a positive client and patient journey.

Working Pattern

*21 hours split over the week, Saturday mornings on rota to be discussed but likely 1:4, occasional branch practice reception shifts.

Key Responsibilities

*Providing a warm, professional welcome to clients and their pets

*Managing appointments and diaries efficiently

*Dispensing medications and prescriptions

*Answering telephone and email enquiries with confidence and empathy

*Processing payments and maintaining accurate client records

*Supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the practice

*Working closely with the clinical team to ensure an excellent client experience

*Managing challenging situations with professionalism and compassion

*Contributing to a positive and supportive team environment
