Job Purpose
To safely and efficiently operate Class C refuse and recycling collection vehicles, supporting the Council's waste and recycling services across the Teignbridge district.
The role involves driving collection vehicles, carrying out waste and recycling collections, and working as part of a team to provide a reliable and high-quality service to residents.
Responsibilities
Drive and operate Class C refuse and recycling collection vehicles safely and responsibly.
Carry out scheduled household, commercial, recycling and waste collections in accordance with service requirements.
Complete daily vehicle checks and report any defects, damage or safety concerns pr
Ensure waste and recyclable materials are collected and handled in accordance with Council procedures.
Follow designated routes and collection schedules and report any access or service issues.
Operate vehicle-mounted equipment and lifting mechanisms where required and where appropriately trained.
Ensure vehicles, equipment and work areas are maintained in a clean and safe condition.
Comply with relevant road traffic legislation, health and safety requirements and Council policies.
Deal professionally and courteously with residents and members of the public.
Report missed collections, contaminated recycling, unsafe conditions and other operational issues as required.
Class C driving Licence
