This is the result of a holistic and engaging experience that summer interns at Jabil experience. As a result, interns that are a part of this program for summer 2027 will get to engage with members of Jabil’s leadership team and participate in events related to professional development, networking & socializing, and community engagement. What Will You Do?
- Design, develop, and integrate automated systems, including robotic cells, PLC-controlled machinery, and vision inspection systems
- Program and configure PLCs (e.g., Rockwell, Siemens), HMIs, and industrial robots (e.g., Fanuc, Universal Robots
- Conduct thorough testing, debugging, and troubleshooting of automation equipment and software
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, and maintenance, to identify automation opportunities and implement solutions
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and operational procedures
- Participate in equipment installation, commissioning, and validation activities
- Provide technical support and training to production and maintenance personnel on automated systems
- Stay updated on emerging automation technologies and industry best practices
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance automation performance and reliability
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards in all automation projects
How Will You Get Here?
Education
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline
Experience
- Previous internship, project work, or academic experience related to manufacturing, process improvement, or industrial engineering is a plus.
- Experience working on engineering projects, process mapping, or data analysis through coursework is beneficial.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using Microsoft Visio, Microsoft Project, or AutoCAD.
- Exposure to Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, or Six Sigma concepts.
- Interest in manufacturing operations, production systems, and process optimization.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
