Job Summary

The ECO Engineer is responsible for managing and coordinating Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) initiated by customers. This role serves as the key focal point between customers and internal cross-functional teams to ensure all engineering changes are reviewed, communicated, planned, and implemented accurately while meeting quality, cost, and delivery requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive and review Engineering Change (EC/ECO) notifications from customers through designated systems and platforms.
  • Coordinate customer-driven changes related to:
    • Product design
    • Components and materials
    • Manufacturing processes
    • Equipment and tooling
    • Documentation and specifications
  • Analyze the impact of engineering changes on production, inventory, quality, procurement, and supply chain activities.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Planning, Procurement, and Program Management, to ensure successful implementation of changes.
  • Facilitate change review meetings and track progress to ensure all actions are completed according to schedule.
  • Communicate engineering change requirements, timelines, and implementation plans to relevant internal stakeholders.
  • Monitor customer change requests and drive timely execution while minimizing operational disruption.
  • Maintain accurate ECO records, documentation, and change history within company systems.
  • Support risk assessment activities associated with engineering changes and propose mitigation actions when necessary.
  • Ensure all engineering changes are implemented in compliance with customer requirements and internal procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Electronics, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related fields.
  • 1-3 years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering, NPI, Program Management, Product Engineering, ECO Management, or related functions.
  • Understanding of Engineering Change Management (ECM), Engineering Change Order (ECO), or Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) processes is preferred.
  • Strong project coordination and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong communication skills in both Vietnamese and English.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; experience with ERP/PLM systems is an advantage.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in EMS (Electronics Manufacturing Services) environment.
  • Familiarity with customer change management processes.
  • Knowledge of BOM, manufacturing processes, and component lifecycle management.
  • Experience working directly with international customers.
