SUMMARY
The ECAD Manager is responsible for leading the ECAD layout engineering team and the ECAD Library (symbols/footprints)/Windchill team and 3rd party outsource contract maintenance. This role ensures end-to-end PCB design execution, library quality, and PLM data integrity, primarily supporting Wireline, Server and Payment systems.
The position drives technical excellence, process standardization, and cross-functional collaboration to meet product quality, schedule, and cost targets.
KEYR ESPONSIBILITIES
(Include, but are not limited to the following:)
- Lead ECAD and Library engineering teams including hiring, mentoring, and performance management.
- Plan and allocate ECAD resources across multiple projects and manage schedules and deliverables.
- Drive PCB design activities include placement, constraint definition, routing, and tape-out readiness.
- Establish and enforce ECAD design standards, review processes, and best practices.
- Manage external layout vendors including quality, schedule, and communication.
- Oversee library creation and governance including symbol and footprint standards and validation processes.
- Ensure Windchill (PLM) data integrity including version control, lifecycle management, and ECO traceability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including EE, PWR, SI/PI, ME, manufacturing, and suppliers.
- Support DFM/DFx activities and resolve PCB vendor-related issues.
- Continuously improve design methodologies, tools, and workflows.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 8+ years of experience in PCB design with at least 2+ years in leadership role.
- Strong experience in high-speed PCB design, multi-layer boards, HDI, and back drilling.
- Familiar with ECAD tools such as Cadence Allegro; experience with CAM tools is preferred.
- Experience with Wireline products is required; Server and Payment experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of PLM systems such as Windchill and library management best practices.
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Fluent English in read/write is a must and listen/speak is a plus.
PREFERENCE :
- Experience with PADS, Altium, or Mentor tools.
- Knowledge of RF, antenna, or FPC design.
- Experience implementing ECAD library standards and automation.
- Familiarity with SI/PI/EMI considerations.
- Experience in major server OEM/ODM (Quanta, Foxconn, Wistron, etc.)
- Experience working with Tier-1 customers (Google, Meta, Dell, HPE, etc.)
