New Business Development Manager Location: Johannesburg, South Africa Overview: We are seeking an experienced New Business Development Manager to lead a team of Sales Representatives in identifying, acquiring and developing new business opportunities across South Africa. The role combines sales leadership, field sales management, customer acquisition and distribution expansion to increase market coverage and achieve business growth targets. Responsibilities: • Lead, manage and coach a team of approximately 5–8 Sales Representatives operating across South Africa. • Set individual and team sales targets, monitor performance and manage daily field sales activities. • Identify, approach and onboard new retail customers, resellers and business accounts. • Expand market coverage into new regions, towns and sales channels. • Travel regularly across provinces to support the sales team, conduct market visits and personally develop new accounts. • Manage the new business development pipeline and report on sales progress, new accounts and growth opportunities. • Conduct regular performance reviews, coaching sessions and skills development activities for Sales Representatives. • Monitor market coverage, competitor activity and in-store sales execution. • Manage the team's operating budget, including travel and incentives, within approved guidelines. • Collaborate with senior sales management and account management teams to align new business activities with overall sales objectives. • Identify opportunities to improve distribution, customer acquisition and sales performance. Minimum Requirements: • Solid sales experience, including experience as a Sales Representative or in a similar field sales role. • Proven experience leading and managing a team of Sales Representatives. • Experience managing a regional or multi-province sales structure will be advantageous. • Experience in consumer electronics, home appliances or FMCG will be advantageous. • A qualification in Sales, Marketing, Business Management or a related field will be advantageous. • Valid driver's licence and own reliable transport. • Willingness and ability to travel extensively across South Africa. • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. • Strong leadership, coaching and people management skills. • Excellent communication, planning and organisational abilities. • A proactive, results-driven approach with a strong focus on new business acquisition
