Job Summary: As a Senior Data Scientist, you will build solutions that power ad delivery, targeting, and performance optimization across live sports and entertainment. The role involves developing inventory forecasting models, click-through rate (CTR) and conversion rate (CVR) predictors, and demographic inference systems using advanced models. You will also drive the application of large language models (LLMs) and GenAI for contextual ad targeting and intelligent advertiser tooling. This role is pivotal in scaling data-driven monetization and enhancing the precision, reach, and impact of digital advertising across JioHotstar.

About the team:

JioHotstar is building the advertising platform that will power commerce-led advertising across some of India’s largest digital consumer businesses.

This team sits at the intersection of AdTech, e-commerce, data, and monetisation. The goal is to help retail platforms unlock high-intent advertising inventory across the full shopping journey - home pages, category pages, product detail pages, cart, order confirmation flows, and personalised placements - while giving advertisers measurable outcomes.

Key responsibilities:

• Analyze large datasets from various sources to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights that help define and execute data-driven strategies for the Ads platform
• Design, develop, and deploy statistical models, machine learning algorithms, generative AI models, and predictive analytics to optimize ad targeting, improve campaign performance, and maximize revenue

• Lead data science features from concept to production, ensuring they meet strategic goals and deliver tangible business outcomes. Invest in and enhance model development, testing, and release pipelines for efficient and reliable deployment

• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Data Engineering, Product Management, Ad Tech, and Business teams, to understand business challenges and deploy end-to-end solutions
• Continuously evaluate and improve data quality and model performance to ensure consistent, reliable, and accurate insights
• Develop and execute A/B testing frameworks and experimental designs to validate algorithmic improvements and quantify business impact
• Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in data science, machine learning, and AI, and proactively incorporate cutting-edge techniques into models and the Ads platform
• Present findings, methodologies, and business impact of data science initiatives to technical and non-technical stakeholders

Skills and attributes for success:

• Proven experience in data science and machine learning preferably in AdTech or related industries
• Strong proficiency in Python, SQL, and relevant data science libraries (Pandas, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, etc.)
• Expertise in building and deploying machine learning models into production systems
• Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud)
• Deep understanding of statistical analysis, machine learning, data mining, and predictive modeling techniques
• Should be comfortable leveraging LLMs and internals
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to translate business problems into data science solutions

Preferred education and experience:

Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related quantitative field with 4-7 years of experience in data science/machine learning
