Business Intelligence (BI) Developer

We are looking for a BI professional with experience in Business Intelligence development, data analysis or a similar quantitative role. You should have expert-level experience working with large and complex SQL Server databases, strong knowledge of Microsoft Power BI, data warehousing, OLAP, ETL, SSRS and SSIS, and the ability to translate business requirements into effective reports and dashboards. Insurance or broader Financial Services experience will be advantageous.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Analyse data from multiple sources and develop integrated data views for reporting and decision-making.
• Work with large and complex SQL Server databases to maintain data quality and accessibility.
• Develop and maintain OLAP/Tabular models within SQL environments.
• Design and implement BI reports and dashboards based on business requirements.
• Engage with leadership and stakeholders to understand and define reporting requirements.
• Analyse and optimise legacy reports and standardise performance metrics.
• Administer and maintain BI tools, infrastructure and data integrations.
• Identify trends, performance anomalies and commercial opportunities within data.
• Present meaningful BI insights and recommendations to executive audiences.
• Drive improvements and best practices across reporting solutions.

Job Experience & Skills Required

Qualifications:

• Matric (Grade 12)
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Mathematics or a related quantitative field.

Experience:

• Minimum 5 years' experience in Business Intelligence development, data analysis or a similar quantitative role.
• Proven experience with data warehouse concepts.
• Expert-level proficiency with SQL Server databases.
• Advanced development experience with Microsoft Power BI.
• Strong knowledge of OLAP and ETL frameworks.
• Experience with SSRS and SSIS.
• Insurance or broader Financial Services experience will be advantageous.
• Experience working with PowerApps will be beneficial.
