POD Clerk - Logistics (Outbound)

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the outbound delivery process from planning through to final settlement.
• Coordinate and monitor Proof of Delivery (POD) processes, including POD verification, reconciliation and KPI reporting.
• Monitor and investigate failed deliveries, delivery delays, shortages, overages and outstanding shipments.
• Manage Stock-in-Transit (SIT) reports, ageing stock, pending deliveries and delivery status updates.
• Liaise daily with transport service providers, warehouses and customers to ensure on-time deliveries and proactive communication.
• Monitor Goods Issue (GI) processes and system interfaces to ensure accurate and timely processing.
• Investigate logistics system exceptions, including material, customer and postal code errors.
• Assist with inventory management, quarterly stock counts and irregularity reporting.
• Maintain logistics records, performance reports and outbound cost reporting.
• Ensure logistics KPIs, customer service levels and operational targets are achieved.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within the outbound logistics operation.

Minimum Requirements

• Matric (Grade 12).
• Minimum 1-3 years' experience in an outbound logistics, POD administration or freight forwarding environment.
• Working knowledge of outbound distribution and transport operations.
• Experience working with logistics or warehouse management systems.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Understanding of local distribution, warehousing and inventory management principles.
