Civil Engineer

Undertake preliminary and detailed design of civil engineering services, including:

• • Roads
  • Stormwater systems
  • Water infrastructure
  • Sewer infrastructure
• Liaise with commercial and government clients throughout the project lifecycle.
• Assist with project appointments, scope definition and professional fee negotiations.
• Manage design conceptualisation and development.
• Prepare and monitor project cost and progress reports.
• Liaise with multidisciplinary professional teams, including architects, quantity surveyors, electrical engineers, environmental consultants and health and safety professionals.
• Liaise with relevant local authorities and government bodies regarding approvals, wayleaves and project requirements.
• Manage and coordinate design team activities, including work allocation, progress monitoring, review of completed work and issuing of deliverables.
• Review civil engineering scheme reports, traffic reports, stormwater management reports and floodline reports.
• Assist with project procurement, including:
  • Tender drawings
  • Bills of Quantities
  • Tender documentation
  • Tender processes and adjudication
  • Contractor appointment
• Manage project implementation and contract administration.
• Chair site meetings and prepare meeting minutes.
• Manage contractual matters, project costs, scope and quality.
• Maintain effective project correspondence and records.
• Assist with project close-out, invoicing and payment processes.

Minimum Requirements

• BSc, BEng or BTech in Civil Engineering.
• 3 - 5 years’ relevant experience in infrastructure development and township development.
• Previous experience within the consulting engineering sector.
• Practical experience in the design of roads, stormwater, water and sewer infrastructure.
• Experience working with clients, professional teams and relevant authorities.
• Exposure to project procurement, tender processes and construction-stage contract administration.
