Minimum Requirements
- Matric / Grade 12
- Trade Tested / Qualified Diesel Mechanic
- Minimum 3-5 years' post-qualification experience
- Valid driver's licence

- Knowledge of hydraulic systems
- Basic auto-electrical and electronic diagnostic knowledge
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and diagrams
- Experience using diagnostic and mechanical testing equipment
- Ability to work independently and under pressure
- Strong communication and customer-service skills
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities

Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance, servicing and repairs on diesel-powered equipment.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults.
- Conduct field breakdowns, emergency call-outs and repairs at customer sites.
- Perform engine, transmission, drivetrain and hydraulic system repairs.
- Conduct inspections and identify potential equipment failures.
- Use diagnostic equipment to identify and resolve faults.
- Complete testing and quality checks following repairs.
- Attend to customer sites, including mines, workshops, factories and industrial environments.
- Provide professional technical support and advice to customers.
- Complete job cards, service reports, inspection sheets and other required documentation.
- Ensure all repairs comply with manufacturer specifications and company quality standards.
- Maintain company tools, equipment and service vehicles.
- Comply with all health, safety and customer site requirements.
- Participate in standby, after-hours, weekend and public holiday call-outs when required.
- Assist with equipment commissioning and installation where required.
