Engineering Manager: Spares, Services & Reliability
Our client, an established organization specializing in aftermarket services and mechanical equipment in the mining and industrial sectors, is seeking a highly experienced Engineering Manager to lead technical support and reliability initiatives.
Duties:
Serve as the technical authority for all aftermarket products and services.
Provide engineering support for vibrating screens, feeders, exciters, and associated equipment.
Review and approve technical quotations and repair scopes.
Support complex customer technical enquiries and review manufacturing drawings.
Verify technical specifications and ensure compliance with engineering standards.
Ensure aftermarket components meet original design requirements.
Liaise with Sales Engineering on customer modifications and design improvements.
Inspect manufactured components and assemblies for dimensional compliance and quality.
Support manufacturing in technical issue resolution and oversee refurbishment projects to OEM standards.
Conduct failure investigations, root cause analysis, and develop reliability improvement strategies.
Generate technical reports for clients and management.
Provide technical oversight to Field Service teams, developing methodologies and standards.
Conduct site inspections, customer visits, and support commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance activities.
Collaborate with clients to understand operational challenges and develop engineering solutions to reduce downtime and improve performance.
Assist with maintenance planning, reliability improvements, and provide technical evaluations for sales and service support.
Identify opportunities for design enhancements and contribute to product development.
Support technical training initiatives.
Requirements:
Proven experience of at least 10 years in mechanical engineering, specifically within the aftermarket and equipment support environment.
Strong expertise in root cause analysis, quality assurance, and technical report writing.
Demonstrated leadership and project management skills.
Ability to develop and implement engineering solutions for operational challenges.
Excellent communication skills for liaising with customers and internal teams.
Familiarity with the following:
Mechanical engineering principles.
Root cause analysis methodologies.
Quality assurance processes.
Technical documentation and reporting.
Customer relationship management.
